Amgen Sr Associate - Genome Analysis Unit in South San Francisco, California

Amgen Genome Analysis Unit is seeking an enthusiastic molecular and cellular biologist to join our stem cell biotechnology group at our research facility in South San Francisco.

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and be able to work independently and as part of cross-disciplinary teams. The candidate will join an energetic research team responsible for the design and execution of stem cell engineering projects and the production of high quality data. Responsibilities of this position include maintaining and generating of human iPSCs, as well as developing scalable and reproducible iPSC differentiation protocols into a variety of cell types. Additional responsibility includes developing and maintaining automated workflows for assay development, as well as analyzing and communicating results to the research teams and departments.

Basic Qualifications

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications

A demonstrated strong background in cell biology and molecular biology

Working knowledge of human iPSC culture

Experience with automation and high-throughput assays

Ability to design and execute experiments independently

Excellent communication skills and the desire to work in a team

Computer literacy, analytical and problem-solving skills, highly organized and ability to multi-task
