Senior Associate- Molecular Biology, Protein Technology

Amgen’s Therapeutic Discovery organization is seeking a Senior Associate to join the Protein Technologies department at our South San Francisco site. Protein Technologies is responsible for designing, planning and executing on the generation of key enabling reagents to support early discovery of small and large molecule therapeutics and ground-breaking modalities.
The successful candidate will join Molecular Biology group and is expected to apply molecular biology techniques to generate DNA constructs used for making proteins and cells lines for discovery and pipeline projects, including antibodies, bispecifics and membrane proteins.
Responsibilities will include: (a) design constructs; (b) apply automation and data management software to clone large panel of constructs for multiple projects; (c) interact closely with and hand off gene constructs to the downstream stakeholders.

- Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related scientific experience
Broad training in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Biological Sciences
Proven skills in molecular biology techniques such as construct design and cloning for recombinant protein expression
Detailed knowledge in cloning, primer design, DNA sequence analysis software
Experience in high throughput cloning and in high throughput cloning microbial or mammalian expression
Experience in automation equipment
Desire to be a team player in a dynamic, cross-functional environment
Demonstrated scientific analysis and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
