What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will design, develop and implement clinical biomarker assays employing innovative flow cytometry methods and techniques to support our drug development efforts.

  • Provide technical oversight for the development and execution of clinical cytometry assays to support programs across multiple therapeutic areas,

  • Collaborate with stakeholders within the Department of Clinical Biomarkers and Diagnostics and across other functional areas

  • Develop and qualify complex biomarker assays to support various clinical programs

  • Supervise/mentor staff

  • Provide innovative approaches to address biological questions, analyze and interpret data, present results and work with internal and external partners to develop and implement biomarker assays.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of scientific/technical experience

Or

Master’s degree and 5 years of scientific/technical experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of scientific/technical experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A strong background and experience in multiparametric flow cytometry assays including immunophenotyping, receptor occupancy and immune based functional assays are required for this position.

  • Candidate should be able to independently initiate and drive projects and contribute intellectually to support the work of others.

  • Supervisory and mentoring experience in a lab setting.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to assist in assay validation, development, and troubleshooting.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects, strong verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of motivation, creativity and collaborative qualities.

  • Previous experience working in a matrixed environment to implement flow cytometry assay development and validation to support clinical trials.

  • Project management skills to meet critical timelines associated with various activities necessary to support biomarker assessment of clinical samples.

  • Demonstrated track record of critical independent thinking and troubleshooting ability and innovative ways to solve complex questions is highly desirable.

  • Understanding of disease biology and biomarker approaches in multiple therapeutic areas.

  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines is required.

  • Work and coordinate with internal stakeholders as well as external partners such as CROs and vendors to support outsourced activities.

  • Familiarity with processes and factors needed to evaluate and qualify CROs.

  • Experience interfacing with CROs to coordinate data and assay transfers, and real time monitoring of assay performance.

  • Familiarity with flow cytometry data qc processes.

  • Experience with complex data analysis software for flow cytometry such as FlowJo, FCS Express, OMIQ.AI, SPADE, viSNE and CITRUS
