What you will do

Main responsibilities:

The candidate will lead a team of business & compliance analyst in delivering high quality, robust and reliable operational support of manufacturing systems. Partnering with key business stakeholders and IS Director, this role will have end to end accountability for the delivery of digital, capital and application systems lifecycle projects on site. The role will report to the Director of Information Systems and would be a member of the site Ops DTI management team.

  • Leading an agile product team of application specialists to ensure robust, reliable system operations supporting the manufacturing of biotechnology therapies.

  • Managing a team of application specialist to ensure robust, stable, and reliable operation of all applications and systems through effective maintenance, spares, upgrades and appropriate disaster recovery processes, including contingency plans

  • Define, measure, improve team and system performance based on tangible metrics.

  • Develop robust systems support model to meet the needs of site operations including any required contracts with vendors or third parties, ensure all parties are aware of their responsibilities.

  • Integrate all support models with the relevant corporate business and IS teams.

  • Manage all planned and unplanned applications outages for the site.

  • Full accountability for GMP Quality systems, Laboratory systems (LIMS, LMES and Benchtops), Supply Chain SAP, Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Data Historian, DeltaV and process monitoring and analytic systems.

  • Subject matter expert for IS related topics during an audit/inspections

  • Partner with the business and relevant corporate teams to develop and drive 3–5-year Digital Transformation roadmap at ASM. This strategy must clearly define and support the business value and benefits to Operations.

  • Proactively plan and drive the lifecycle roadmap, including system retirement for site applications and systems aligned with the Amgen roadmap for these systems or classes of system

  • Develop fully measurable training programs for applications and systems

  • Proactively engage with all business functions to encourage the use of technology to maximize efficiency, capacity and reliability or operations

  • Develop innovative approaches to solve business challenges with current or new technology

  • Develop programs to challenge and improve the robustness of the overall IS environment

  • Execute data strategy to progress data capabilities

  • Develop data analytics solutions to improve visibility and efficiency of various business processes using analytics tools such as Spotfire/Smartsheet/Python/Databricks

  • Manage applications and support capital and expense budget

  • Delivering financially viable solutions to minimize technology spend in Ops DTI (Digital, Technology & Innovation) function by advancing scalable, reusable solutions in back-end and front-end capabilities.

What we expect of you

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or Life science and 2 years of directly related experience OR

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or Life science and 6 years of directly related experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or Life science and/or 8 years of directly related experience

  • Providing high quality customer support to key manufacturing systems in a regulated operational environment, ideally in Biologics or Pharmaceutical industries.

  • Minimum 5 years of managerial experience, leading and implementing digital innovation on site or network level

  • Experience leading or running regulatory or IS inspection or audits

  • Prior experience or certification in ITIL, Agile or SCRUM is required.

  • Strong Analytical, problem-solving ability.

  • In-depth knowledge of GMP , CFR Part 11/Annex 11 computer system, data integrity and validation processes, requirements, and policies

  • Certified or have working experience in Scaled Agile Framework or Agile product team.

  • Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • SAP, S/4 HANA

  • MES PAS-X

  • CDS Empower

  • LIMS

  • Data Historian

  • DeltaV systems

  • Laboratory systems

  • Robotics Process Automation (RPA)

  • Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence

  • Data Analytics tools (Tableau or Spotfire)

  • Smartsheets

  • IIoT

  • AR/VR

  • Expertise managing a team of highly motivated technical resources is essential
