Job Description:
Medical Capabilities
Drives strategy and execution across the capability, including process alignment across SEA affiliates, standardization, identifying and implementing solutions locally where needed in alignment with product and franchise strategies.
Medical Operations:
Accountable for Regional Medical performance management responsibilities, ensuring standardization, training, quality and timely delivery across various Regional Medical systems and analytics capabilities
Lead regional operations, overseeing budget, resource management (eg, headcount), & process
Represent Functional needs and collaborate cross-functionally at key R&D interfaces
Role:
Regional (SEA), located at the Singapore SEA Headquarters
Reports to:
SEA Medical Director
Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following activities:
Execute capability strategies that maximize the value proposition of Amgen's therapies including annual strategic planning and goal setting, global process framework, alignment, and compliance, as well as and systems solutions
In alignment with global capability, establish, ensure or execute consistent and efficient procedures, systems and infrastructure are in place to support capability.
Partner with Global Learning and Performance and JAPAC Medical Capabilities teams to help determine the annual strategy and execution of training programs to support capability/staff within region/local
Ensure broad and deep collaboration with local stakeholders to contribute to / inform and execute strategies
Ensure Global/Regional/Local input and alignment to strategy, plans, and process, as appropriate to meet program goals on time and within budget
Champion initiatives and ideas from the field to the headquarters; driving annual objectives and metrics (quantitative and qualitative) for performance as appropriate to capability
Contribute to developing global organizational strategies for successful implementation of role and programs
Coach, mentor, motivate and develop talent, as appropriate
Ensure staff onboarding and ongoing training, contribute geographic expertise to RBC and Blueprints
Utilize global infrastructure for tracking, measuring and evaluating performance and ensure continuous performance improvement
Lead implementation of SOPs
Drive Functional/Management Incentive Plan (MIP) goal setting and initiatives, and track & report progress
Work with SEA Medical Director to organize Leadership Team and regional meetings to achieve strategic objectives
Identify, lead or contribute to cross-departmental/functional strategic initiatives/process improvement opportunities
Partner with Global Medical Operations to represent regional needs and support process roll-out
Lead innovation to drive staff engagement, support staff development, establish recognition programs; identify and implement platforms for learning and best practice sharing
Minimum Requirements
Doctorate degree & 2 years of Medical Affairs experience OR
Master’s degree & 6 years of Medical Affairs experience OR
Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of Medical Affairs experience
Preferred Requirements
MD, PhD, PharmD, Masters Degree
Prior experience in Medical Affairs within the biopharmaceutical industry in the areas of hematology, oncology, cardiovascular or bone
Understanding of the drug development and commercialization process
