Amgen Associate Scientist in Singapore, Singapore
The Associate Scientist position will support the Synthetic Chemistry subject matter expert. The role will be responsible for providing scientific and technical information to support commercial production of chemical synthetic drug substance
This role will support new product introduction, troubleshooting and improvement of existing and new API (synthetic molecule) processes run at the Amgen Singapore Manufacturing site. This individual will be responsible for preparation of laboratory-based experiments to support small scale model interrogation, investigations, and process improvements.
The role participate in teams and collaborate cross-functionally with representatives from other functions in support of API manufacturing processes
This individual will support process, process safety and material risk assessment performed on-site.
This individual will manage ASM2 PD lab facilities and equipment maintenance to ensure compliance (e.g. calibration, preventive maintenance). Ensures safe operation of PD laboratory and the safe practices are followed
Provide direct manufacturing support as required / troubleshooting production issues / process validation / report writing
Education / Licenses
Masters degree with at least 2 years of Scientific experience OR
Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of Scientific experience
The candidate should have relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or related chemical industry which includes participation and contribution to scientific project teams
Hands on performing organic synthesis in laboratory scale and scale up
Experience in supporting commercial manufacturing
Competencies / Skills
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering with at least 4 years pharmaceutical industry or MS in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical and related industry.
Comprehensive knowledge in Organic Synthesis / Process Chemistry
Experience in running bench scale synthetic chemistry process.
Demonstrated communication and scientific writing skills.
Interpersonal skills and team work
