Amgen Observational Research Mgr in Seoul, South Korea

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works internally with BU medical, global epidemiology group, and study operation function and externally with academia and CRO

  • When real world data gaps are identified, works with internal and external stakeholders for problem solving

  • Recommends optimal (or practical) study design for problem solving using various databases (HIRA, NHIS, EMR), existing local cohorts, and registries

  • Develops study protocols, executes studies (some studies including prospective studies will be executed by study operation function), performs analysis

  • Data interpretation and publication in collaboration with BU medical

  • Big data mining (e.g. HIRA/NIHS, EMR) for clinical trial feasibility and patient flow assessments as needed

  • Participates in the development of International medical strategies and tactics in close collaboration with the regional and corporate medical, including publication plan, evidence generation plan

  • Provide design, analysis and interpretation input for regulatory post-marketing surveillance study in collaboration with BU medical

  • Provide consultations for Health Economics and reimbursement strategies/studies

  • Keep up-to-date with methodological developments in real world data generation as well as local laws and regulations governing daily work

  • Local counterpart for region EG lead

Minimum qualifications:

  • PhD in epidemiology with post-doctoral independent research experience or equivalent industry experience

  • Experience in big data mining; must have experience extracting, analyzing HIRA, NHIS data from start to finish

  • Record of competence in various study methods (e.g. case control, cohort) from study conception to publication

  • Familiarity with local cohorts and registries or ability to network to get access to these data

  • Working level proficiency in written and spoken English

  • Enjoys problem-solving with complex stakeholders through cross-functional collaborations

  • Excellent learning agility for diverse disease conditions and available therapeutics

Preferred qualifications:

  • Specialist physician; MD with at least 4 years post-graduate training in clinical medicine

  • Experience using multiple data sources simultaneously

  • Experience in complex study designs (e.g. mosaic studies) and mixed methods research (qualitative + quantitative)
