Amgen Undergrad Coop - Process Development Drug Product in Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico

Amgen is searching for Undergrad Coop in our Drug Product Process Development, Technology Innovations department. This role will report to the Sr Mgr Process Development and will be based on Amgen Manufacturing Limited Juncos’ site. The Undergrad Coop will work closely with a team of Scientifics and Engineers responsible for several projects supporting the AML 1 Inspection & Packaging organization.

The student will have the opportunity to support the Department’s projects, activities and daily operations in Amgen Manufacturing Limited through the use of related technical concepts and tools. The temporary Undergrad CO-OP assignment will be supporting the Process Development Department for a six months assignment, based on business needs and can be extended up to one year.

Candidate selected should be available to begin on/or before April / May 2019


o Support in the development of Commissioning and Qualification test scripts.

o Define and confirm individual test scripts criteria and acceptability with the Quality department.

o Support in the dry run execution of test scripts and measure duration of activities.

o Develop process documentation as follows: training materials for users and procedure(s).

o Support the C&Q test script implementation.

o Meet milestones and deliver high quality results.


o Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering, Mathematics and/or Statistics

o At Least 3.00 GPA (General)

o Have completed at least 3 years of college education

o Be enrolled in School

o Not yet graduated

o Be pursuing an applicable degree or course of study


o Strong technical writing skills

o Good interpersonal and leadership skills

o Able to work with minimum supervision

o Well Organized with efficient time management skills

o Enthusiastic about learning new concepts and work processes

o Proficient in the following software: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point

o Skills in: Collaboration, negotiation, persuasion, basic project management, ensuring completion and follow up

o Basic understanding of cGMPs

o Good communication skills (both written and verbal in Spanish and English)

o Enthusiastic about learning new concepts and work processes

o Ability to work as a team player and/or independently with good interposal skills

o Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

o Basic word processing, presentation and spreadsheet application skills
