Amgen Senior Product Manager, Dermatology in North Ryde, Australia

Responsible for the launch of a new dermatology product.


Develops and Executes Strategy

  • Develops local launch strategy that’s aligned with Global brand launch strategy to achieve key LRR timelines and communicates it to relevant stakeholders

  • Develops and executes with cross-functional team the launch plan and annual Affiliate Brand Plan complete with key strategic imperatives, tactics, and funding allocation to ensure success

  • Develops long range plans (LRP) incl. key performance driver assumptions.


Delivers Results

  • Designs and executes promotional activities (eg detail aids, message scripts, advertising, congresses etc) in line with Global branding and key message guidance.

  • Partners with sales management to drive implementation of brand strategy

  • Recommends annual national sales target and quarterly target updates and achieves agreement with key stakeholders.

  • Works with Business Analytics and Performance (BIP) on a monthly basis to understand key performance drivers (eg market, market share, price) and performance insights.

  • Gathers and analyses market information, competitive information in conjunction with other team members. Commissions and oversees market research in partnership with BIP and develops resulting plan of action.

Works in Teams

  • Leads cross-functional (eg Sales, Medical, VAP, Commercial) Brand Team Meetings to optimize brand performance

  • Partners with National Sales Manager to drive salesforce motivation, align salesforce with brand plan of action, and ensure salesforce performance

  • Partners with other key local functional stakeholders (eg Professional Education, Finance, Supply Chain) to resolve issues and maximise brand performance

  • Develops strong working relationships with Regional and Global colleagues to facilitate best practice sharing etc)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant academic education and/or demonstrable experience in a similar leadership position

  • Minimum 7 years industry experience including specialty in the healthcare/hospital environment

  • 4 years’ experience as a Product Manager, including launch experience; documented track record of success.

  • Experience within therapeutic area an advantage (Dermatology).

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative

  • Demonstrates strong commercial attitude and understanding of Specialty and hospital channels

  • Excellent communication skills and previous experience working with sales and marketing teams/matrix organisations are considered essential for this role.

  • Strong financial planning and analysis skill set

  • Experience in developing innovative strategic solutions and ability to execute successfully

  • Fluency in English, both in oral and written communication

  • Excellent computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
