The Role:

  • Provide state of the art medical insight into the Dermatology/Inflammation area to local and international teams.

  • Act as the single point of contact for local, regional and global stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the local Medical strategy and Medical activities for Dermatology/Inflammation product(s) in accordance with internal and external regulations

  • Dermatology/Inflammation therapeutic area and/or product specific Medical training and education

  • Manage internal and external relationships within area of responsibility

  • Ensure consistency of Medical content and scientific messages across various tools and materials

  • Product(s) lifecycle management

Key Activities:

  • Participate in the development of strategies and tactics in close collaboration with the regional/global medical leads

  • Contribute to cross functional stakeholder teams in shaping the healthcare ecosystem by enabling access to medicines through insights generation, evidence generation, scientific exchange and education

  • Develop and lead execution of the medical strategy that informs the practice of medicine ensuring key needs are met in alignment with global product medical and relevant brand strategy

  • Works with Clinical Operations to ensure preparation, implementation and completion of Amgen sponsored studies

  • Supports Local Clinical Operations in participation and completion of International development studies in the country

  • Partners with the Brand lead in the development and execution of the local product(s) lifecycle management plan

  • Oversees in-sourced/outsourced Medical programs

  • Participates in/conducts Local Advisory Board Meetings, Investigator Meetings and/or Expert Panels

  • Provides expert medical input for Amgen Pipeline products, Regulatory submissions for registration and reimbursement of Amgen products and review of promotional and scientific documents

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • University degree in medicine, pharmacy, veterinary science and/or PhD. Postgraduate specialization in the Dermatology/Inflammation therapeutic area preferred

  • Experience in a Medical Advisor/Medical Affairs role in the Dermatology area is a distinct advantage

  • Minimum 5 years Medical Affairs or clinical development experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology industry

  • Minimum of 2 years as Medical Advisor in the Pharmaceutical industry

  • Proven track record of successful product launches

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, product lifecycle and commercialization process with advanced understanding of other functions; including, but not limited to Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Commercial and Regulatory

  • Deep scientific expertise in the Dermatology/Inflammation therapeutic area preferred

  • Network of customer contacts in the Dermatology area

  • Finance and budgeting experience

  • Work rights and residency in Australia mandatory
