Regional Account Manager – North East and Cumbria


What you will do

In this vital role you will be represent Amgen as a Regional Account Manager with NHS stakeholders across the North East geography and through key account excellence will drive the sales to achieve targets set for two products within the Inflammation portfolio.

The role will involve cross-functional work internally and externally with key stakeholders to support driving the business. Close team work will ensure the sharing of best practice to benefit the whole business unit. This whole approach will ensure access and uptake for our products.

  • Achieve the targets set for both products and achieve other individual goals/KPI measures in place

  • Influence key stakeholders across the MDTs for rheumatology, dermatology and gastroenterology as well as pharmacy to support increased access to our products for appropriate patients

  • Market Access – ensure an optimum environment for the prescribing of Amgen products both current and future

  • Maintain effective collaboration within own and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, progress updates and knowledge sharing and to support driving the business forward

  • Understand the local pathways and develop your own regional strategy with the support of cross-functional colleagues, having autonomy for your business

  • Utilise all internal tools and resources to maximise in call effectiveness and key account management

  • Key Account Excellence: Conduct analysis and assessment of accounts to ensure an understanding of issues, key brand advocates, stakeholders, health priorities, commissioning, procurement activities and regional networks

  • Be a team player and continue to personally develop within the supportive culture of the Northern Team with a can do approach, being resilient and always striving to lead the way

  • Embrace new ways of working and adopt an omnichannel and hybrid approach to account management and customer engagement

  • Provide thought leadership around customer engagement – challenge yourself and your colleagues in this uncertain environment

What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. What we seek in you as an experienced professional are these qualifications and skills:

  • Degree educated with proven experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Scientific background preferred

  • Demonstrable experience as a Key Account Manager with specialist medicines that operate in a complex environment

  • Experience in negotiation and strong relationships with pharmacists/key budget partners and other key decision makers as well as local clinical opinion leaders

  • Demonstrable track record of working with objectives and achieving goals through key account planning excellence

  • History of working in complex and cross-functional teams

  • Extensive hospital sales experience; preferably having worked within the areas of gastroenterology, rheumatology and dermatology

  • A proven track record of consistently high performance in a specialist sales environment

  • Experience of maximising growth through complex pathways

  • A strong team player who embraces change with a growth mindset

  • Experience in using the right channel with the right customer at the right time, using an omnichannel approach

  • Experience with customer segmentation, flexing our offering for different customers
