In the face of a US health care system growing more complex day-by-day, we must constantly adapt and evolve our strategies to ensure our patients have appropriate access to our medicines. The US Value & Access (V&A) Insights Senior Manager will play a critical role in monitoring, diagnosing, and addressing payer obstacles and challenges. The successful candidate is responsible for providing varied commercial analytics to provide insights impacting patient support services through secondary data analytics and data integration. You will manage a team of 3 to deliver meaningful insights for the Market access teams as well as the cross-brand initiatives. The individual in this role will deliver analysis using claims data, prescription data, electronic medical records data, and other internal/external data sources.

This position reports to Value & Access Insights Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understand pharmaceutical ecosystem and data sets including prescription (ex. IQVIA NPA), outlet (ex. IQVIA DDD) as well as medical and pharmacy claims (ex. Symphony Claims)

  • Partner with Accounts, Marketing, Market access and Pricing/Contracting to provide insights around various therapeutic areas like Migraine, Cardiovascular diseases, and Oncology within US healthcare system.

  • Provide in-depth, expertise-based oversight and pull through of managed markets analysis around drug access and affordability for Patients in US healthcare

  • Oversee development of analytical resources for value and access team for Amgen’s portfolio of existing, launch and pipeline drugs in US healthcare.

  • Oversee efforts of 1-2 staff members, including setting performance standards, managing their staffing, and monitoring performance

  • Create data analytics models to generate strategic meaningful business insights using SQL, R, Python and Microsoft Excel and communicate insights to internal stakeholders

  • Produce and deliver regular performance dashboards based on complex data sources, including claims data, payer rebate data, DDD data and IDN affiliations data.

  • Provide analytics support to field-based market access teams

  • Drive development and refinement of reports using data visualization tools to track performance against business objective using Tableau.

  • Perform advanced analytics including longitudinal patient level analysis, time series modeling, customer segmentation and issue diagnostics in support of business questions.

  • Provide ad hoc analysis in response to business questions.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of analytics, sales and / or marketing operations experience

Or

Master’s degree and 4 years of analytics, sales and / or marketing operations experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of analytics, sales and / or marketing operations experience

Or

Associates degree and 10 years of analytics, sales and / or marketing operations experience

Or

High School Diploma / GED and 12 years of analytics, sales and / or marketing operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 5 or more years of analytics, consulting or finance experience

  • Analytics experience supporting pharmaceutical field teams

  • Master’s degree and 3 or more years of analytics, consulting, or finance experience

  • 3+ years of healthcare experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, health care, and/or strategy consulting with specific experience and expertise in coverage, access and reimbursement drivers impacting the biopharmaceutical industry

  • High degree of analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Exhibits strong understanding of business strategies

The annual base salary range for this opportunity in the U.S. is $158,693 - $194,145.
