Amgen Specialist HR Systems & Solutions - Workday in Los Angeles, California
Amgen is seeking a Specialist Human Resources (HR) - Systems and Solutions who will serve as a functional lead in support of the Workday system serving within the Employee Services Group. Acting as the ‘face’ of the HR Technology team the incumbent Specialist HR will be instrumental to the delivery of high quality and timely service to cross-functional organizations. The Specialist will act as the main point of contact for at least one or more Workday modules, such as, Human Capital Management (HCM), Recruiting, Onboarding, Talent and Performance Management, Time Tracking etc.; the Specialist HR will perform the configuration updates to the system while coordinating all HR Technology Release planning, analysis and deployment for the functional area of responsibility.
The Specialist HR – Systems and Solutions will report to the Sr. Manager HR - Systems and Solutions based remotely servicing clients in the Amgen Thousand Oaks Head Quarters or in our Capability Center in Tampa, FL. Our new Tampa Capability Center provides essential services that enable us to better pursue the mission to serve patients. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world’s leading biotechnology companies.
Employee Services group is intended to provide a more cohesive employee services delivery model. Our service scope includes a wide array of employee touching corporate services ranging from; Staffing Operations, Benefits Administration, Payroll, HR Technology, Learning Operations, Mobility, Travel, Expense and Meetings Management among several others. By bringing these services and activities together under one organization, the Employee Services team aims to improve collaboration, share best practices, innovate and streamline processes in these areas for the entire enterprise.
Research, evaluate, plan, design and deploy technology-related HR initiatives in close collaboration with cross-functional business units: HR Operations, HR Center of Excellence (COE), HR Business Partners and Information Systems and vendors
Act as link between HR Technology team and COE’s proactively identifying, recommending HR Technology enhancements across all functional areas i.e. Core HCM, Comp, Recruitment, Talent Management, Payroll, Benefits, etc. while addressing current and future business needs.
Partner with HR Technology provider to accommodate landscape requirements, then evaluate new and enhanced functionality opportunities and impact
Oversee, define and monitor critical path release activities and resolve or escalate issues
Understand and apply Amgen’s Information Security and Privacy policies, standards and processes to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of our HR data
Develop high-level plan for implementation in line with the roadmap, while providing thought leadership, guidance and advice within field
Delivery of Workday consultation to the broader HR team serving as Workday Subject Matter Expert - Technical configuration
Provision of training and coaching on Workday best practices
At least 40% of this role will be dedicated to providing HR reporting that has visibility to the C-suite leaders as well as other Workday module reporting and other third-party reporting tools to service the HR client
Master’s degree and 2 years of Human Resources, Information Systems experience
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of Human Resources, Information Systems experience
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Human Resources, Information Systems experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Human Resources, Information Systems experience
8 + years of Global HR Systems experience (Workday)
Advanced knowledge and project management experience of Workday business process administration, staffing transactions, and specific functional expertise in Workday
Demonstrated mixture of practitioner and consulting experience in overcoming resistance to change while successfully rolling out new HR Technology in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
Demonstrated exceptional knowledge of HR technology solutions involving business processes, workflow, and systems implementation
Demonstrated ability to conceptualize impact of changes to system while working in “perpetual Beta”
Demonstrated success supporting HR, Benefits and Payroll Integrations for a large global company
Demonstrated strong HR reporting and analytics acumen with an eye for details, as well as, strong problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills demonstrating successes with both perspectives of HR and IT while focusing on the overall user experience from a people, process and technology standpoint
