Information Systems Senior Manager

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will directly own a global technical resolver team that is responsible for automation and application management. You will be leading a dedicated team that spans all areas of Amgen’s Digital Technology and Innovation, implementing a queueing model to prioritize work within the team, identify and fix root causes, and collect as well as communicate insights.
An ideal candidate would have the ability to work in a high performing product team balancing strategy and execution; have passion and experience in application management; and extremely effective in building partnerships with ability to influence others utilizing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Lead and be accountable for the identified agile product team and prioritized portfolio of software applications
Define key metrics and license and capacity management to track product usage, growth and KPIs for success.
Manage the application support transition processes, develop Business Continuity Plans, and assess changes for impact
Conduct Periodic access reviews, Integrated system assessment (ISA)
Monitor key risks & issues and management of queue
Represent software applications in CAB (change advisory board) processes/meetings
Agile Experience as Scrum Master utilizing JIRA/Confluence & Major Incident Management Representative
Establish relationships with application business managers and leads
Improve processes related to Maintenance & Production Support
Work with other IS shared services teams (Cloud, DBA, networking, collaboration, etc.) for infrastructure issues
Run budget responsibilities, vendor relationships, resource planning, goal setting for the team
Manage staff, provide guidance, career development support, and mentoring to all the team members, and be part of the talent development strategy
Be a leader in the organization

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree & 5 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Master’s degree & 8 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree & 10 years of Information Systems experience
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of application management or related work experience.
Ability to motivate people and instill ownership, reliability, teamwork, and commitment in the team
Excellent technical background (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering degree, prior professional app development background etc.).
Excellent project management skills.
Experience building tools for developers.
Excellent daily communication, responsiveness, and teamwork skills
Experience working with distributed teams of engineers and stakeholders
Experience with using cloud-based services AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Familiarity with automation of processes and functions
Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and useful manner
Attention to detail and ability to deal with ambiguity and change
Strong interpersonal, communication and communication skills
Penchant to learn about new technology innovation and creativity in applying to business problems
