ELMAC Business Analytics & Insights Senior Manager

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The ELMAC Business Analytics & Insights (BAI) Team is recruiting for a Senior Manager to lead the commercial insights, forecasting and analytics efforts for several inline and pipeline products in the ELMAC region (EMEA, LATAM and Canada).

The main purpose of this role is to deliver market and sales analysis to maximize brand value, coordinate the forecasting process relative to the allocated brand and deliver strategic insights (via market research and competitive intelligence) to the relevant teams. This individual will be the key point of contact with a diverse set of Global and affiliate partners (Marketing, Value & Access, Finance, and Manufacturing). He/she will have responsibilities to translate business needs into analytical plans for primary market research, developing unbiased short and long-term product forecasts, tracking brand performance, and elevating the BAI community across the ELMAC region. This role will report to the ELMAC Oncology / Rare Disease BAI Director.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide an objective and rigorous point of view to sales forecasting and product performance while collaborating with Global & Affiliates Marketing, Reimbursement/Value/Access, Center for Observational Research (CfOR), Commercial Insights and Forecasting teams

  • Develop/maintain an appropriate regional forecasting patient model and support the affiliates in further development/use of this model

  • Drive brand specific performance management in ELMAC; ensure that marketing assumptions are appropriately linked to sales performance metrics and targets

  • Execute primary market research projects, understanding the needs of the Global Brand team and affiliates and contributing to building the ELMAC insight generation plan required to meet those needs

  • Work to translate the primary market research findings into actionable insights and be able to influence the team’s decision making accordingly

  • Manage and elevate best-in-class country BAI community across the region

  • Build Amgen’s capability in commercial insights, forecasting and competitive intelligence

  • Support ad-hoc business development, licensing and business cases evaluations

  • Drive strategic and innovative approaches to address key business problems

Basic Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree and 2 years of pharmaceutical market analysis and/or business planning experience OR

  • Master's degree and 4 years of pharmaceutical market analysis and/or business planning experience OR

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of pharmaceutical market analysis and/or business planning experience

  • Fluency in English, both oral and written communications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to translate business questions and needs into meaningful research plans and synthesize multiple data sources to answer business questions

  • Leadership experience in delivering results, shaping the future and developing capabilities in BAI affiliate community

  • Strong leadership with a demonstrated ability to deliver results, champions new innovative methodologies and tools, and manage by influence to strengthen the ELMAC country community

  • Therapeutic area experience and prior technical experience creating or handling KPI and performance metrics

  • Expert in market analysis and forecasting (forecasting models, knowledge frameworks for qualitative competitive analysis, forecasting and analytical tools)

  • Commercial Analysis, Business Planning experience and strong ecosystem knowledge in ideally at least one of the key ELMAC market (Germany, France, Canada, Italy, Spain or UK)

  • Deep understanding of the markets, brands and broader context (internal and external) of the business. Can translate market research insights and findings into realistic, impactful recommendations

  • Demonstrated exceptional strategic / critical thinking abilities and eye for business

  • Ability to dig deep and uncover the “why” beneath the observed behaviors (go beyond the rationale)

  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to a variety of audiences

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment

  • Ability to balance multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously

  • Proficient facilitation, self-driven, analytical thinking and problem-solving
