What you will do
Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be
a senior contributor to a technical team, including Basis experts and cloud experts, with the main focus on ensuring the resilience, compliance, and security of our 24x7 regulated and mission-critical global ERP platform. Additionally, the role will participate in the execution of platform activities for the ERP modernization project, including the S/4HANA implementation, and subsequent platform operations after release.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Implement the roadmap and lifecycle of the SAP platform, ensuring the reliability, security, and compliance of SAP and non-SAP components.
Architect, operate, and maintain the SAP platform on AWS in alignment with organizational strategy.
Lead platform projects using agile methods, demonstrating DevOps processes and automation.
Provide technical guidance and establish or refine playbooks, and standards for platform activities such as periodic maintenances
Perform periodic operational activities to enhance platform stability, including monitoring, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and root cause analysis.
Implement support packages, release upgrades, kernel upgrades, system refreshes, and other lifecycle activities using automation tools like Solution Manager, SAP LaMa, and SAP ChaRM.
Ensure cost optimization by continuously monitoring AWS resource usage and implementing cost-saving measures for the SAP platform.
Develop and maintain automation scripts for routine maintenance tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Operationalize cybersecurity strategy for continuous monitoring, prioritization, and remediation of vulnerabilities.
Enforce GxP compliance, data governance, and security policies relevant to the SAP platform.
Manage SAP systems in validated (GxP) and SOX environments with a strong focus on quality.
Collaborate with AWS architects and engineers to optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost-effectiveness.
Implement and use AI/ML tools for predictive maintenance and anomaly detection.
Assist in driving Amgen business continuity activities (e.g., disaster recovery).
Communicate clearly with peers, customers, and senior management.

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree OR
Master’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 4 to 6 years of IT or SAP related field experience OR
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or STEM majors and 6 to 8 years of IT or SAP related field experience OR
Diploma in computer science or STEM majors and 10 to 12 years of IT or SAP related field experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Must-Have Skills:
Extensive hands-on experience managing SAP landscapes in AWS, specifically with systems such as SAP ECC, S/4HANA, ATTP, GTS, GRC, BW, ATC, GIS, Onapsis, Content Server, and various third-party add-ons.
Proficiency in a broad range of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudFormation for infrastructure as code, and CloudWatch, etc.
Expertise in SAP HANA database administration, Unix system administration for high-availability cluster solutions, printer management, job scheduling, and administration of barcode scanning devices.
Good-to-Have Skills:
Knowledge of AWS and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services, assisting in their implementation to enhance the reliability of the SAP platform.
Working experience in DevOps methodologies within SAP.
Familiarity with AI/ML, GenAI, and SAP Business AI to implement advanced technologies in optimizing SAP solutions and driving innovation.
Professional Certifications (please mention if the certification is preferred or mandatory for the role):
SAP Certified Technology Associate (preferred)
SAP on AWS Specialty (preferred)
Agile Certified Practitioner (preferred)
