Amgen Corporate Affairs, Senior Manager JAPAC in Hong Kong, Hong Kong

Develop, drive and coordinate innovative communication platforms, processes and tools across JAPAC Corporate Affairs to build Amgen’s corporate brand awareness and reputation with internal and external stakeholders.

Play a key role in supporting the Director Corporate Affairs in corporate reputation management using a variety of communications tools.

Accountabilities

Develop and execute a JAPAC social media strategy in partnership with global GCO CA Digital, Global Enterprise and the JAPAC affiliate teams

Develop and undertake a compelling and impactful Media Relations plan to elevate the Amgen brand in JAPAC

Play a central role in driving cultural change through embedding and fostering new internal collaboration tools within the JAPAC CA Team

Manage critical regionwide communications for the JAPAC leadership including Town Halls and other engagements.

Ownership of JAPAC Newsroom

Responsibilities

  • Proactively and enthusiastically support the development of internal and external communications to drive a measurable improvement in awareness of the Amgen Corporate brand using defined metrics.

  • Work in lockstep with the global to local model to secure and leverage global resources and ensure these are deployed effectively, and are consistent with JAPAC’s priorities.

  • Increase share of voice for Amgen’s key TA (secondary prevention, companion diagnostics, novel endpoints) and above TA (healthy aging, health system resilience, predict and prevent) policy priorities by successfully unlocking and managing resource, content and capabilities.

  • Strategic ownership of core communication platforms as part of a broader change management program, including MS Teams, Webex Record and Pigeonhole with responsibility for coordination and collaboration around key milestones and activities

  • Maximise and repurpose existing content and story-telling within the affiliates to ensure consistent narrative and enhanced use of existing assets.

  • Elevate and drive digital capabilities through connecting into global resources, coordinating training and role modelling best practice

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Doctorate degree and 3 years experience in corporate affairs, public affairs or external affairs roles

OR

Master’s degree and 6 years experience in corporate affairs, public affairs or external affairs roles

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 8 years experience in corporate affairs, public affairs or external affairs roles

Similar client advisory role in an agency.

Preferred Requirements

Sensitivity to diverse groups of people both internal and external with the ability to manage many different opinions and perspectives, including an ability to work with ambiguity.

Ability to assimilate complex medical knowledge and communicate to non-medical audiences by applying superior “news judgement” and story-telling skills.

Capable of managing shifting priorities in a rapidly changing environment.

Understands the pharma/biotech business model, regulatory process & compliance guidelines.

Ability to develop relationships with the media and engage directly and proactively with journalists and editors in a mutually beneficial way.

Understanding of both print and visual production requirements for application across a variety of external and internal platforms

Sound understanding and / or enthusiasm for identifying and embedding innovative digital communication platforms into internal and external engagement

Experience in building reputation through a cross functional, integrated internal and external corporate affairs strategy
