What you will do

In this vital role you will be part of the Supply Chain team and you will participate in multiple cross-functional initiatives for Amgen North Carolina (ANC) leading to the implementation and further improvement of related Warehouse systems and processes. The initial focus of the Supply Chain Manager – Warehouse Process will be to support Safety and Quality Systems, as well as Business Continuity activities leading to Operational Readiness. This role will lead warehouse startup change control records, training, documentation, deviations, risk assessments, housekeeping, inspection readiness and manufacturing support. In addition, as the startup is complete, this role will lead other processes, such as warehouse capacity and inventory management. The Warehouse Process Manager will serve as a key Warehouse representative on various cross-functional task forces and teams to ensure that consistent and well-integrated practices are developed throughout the organization.

  • Ensure compliance and inspection readiness for GMP/GDP and EH&S requirements

  • Keep eye on and take appropriate actions to ensure adequate warehouse capacity is available

  • Lead all aspects of inventory control and cycle count process

  • Lead Business Continuity and Risk Management for the Warehouse

  • Serve as owner of Warehouse Equipment (e.g., preventative maintenance, operability, etc.)

  • Own and/or provide input and support for quality system records (deviations, change control records, CAPA and SOPs) or other records (e.g., business continuity plan, user requirement specifications and risk assessments)

  • Assess impact of new requirements, changes, processes, regulations to the department

  • Serve as backup of Warehouse Process Manager in charge of Inbound/Outbound Processes

  • Act as warehouse representative in cross departmental projects

  • Drive continuous improvement maximising Amgen standard tools and methods

  • Develop solutions to departmental and cross-functional business problems through in-depth analysis, coordination, and negotiation with key decision makers.

  • Manage issues to resolution or escalation, when required

  • Be instrumental in to strategic decisions affecting operations.

  • Build cross-functional relationships to develop and garner support for shared programs.

  • Influence a broad spectrum of partners toward achieving business goals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED and 10 years of GMP Operations and/or Warehouse experience OR

  • Associate degree and 8 years of GMP Operations and/or Warehouse experience OR

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of GMP Operations and/or Warehouse experience OR

  • Master’s degree and 2 years of GMP Operations and/or Warehouse experience OR

  • Doctorate degree

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with regulated environments (i.e., cGMP, GDP, OSHA)

  • Supply Chain & Logistics Management, Material Management and/or engineering educational background

  • Good understanding of ERP-SAP and Warehouse Management (WM)

  • Operational Excellence and continuous improvement experience in regulated industry

  • Proficient user of software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, Skype, Tableau)

  • Change management skills

  • Good organizational and communication (written/verbal) skills.

  • Experience working in a global environment, ability to collaborate closely/communicate effectively at different management levels.

  • Availability to support non-standard shift and/or extended hours.

  • Consistent and effective communication within Supply Chain and throughout all of Amgen and across all sites.
