Sr. Associate IS Engineer – Network Engineer
Be part of Amgen's newest and most advanced drug substance manufacturing plant. When completed, the Amgen FleX Batch facility will combine the latest in disposable technologies with traditional stainless-steel equipment to allow for maximum flexibility in operations. The FleX Batch facility will not only feature the best in-class drug substance manufacturing technologies with embedded industry 4.0 capabilities, but it will also integrate sustainability innovations to reduce carbon and waste, as part of Amgen's plan to be a carbon-neutral company by 2027.

The Sr. Associate IS Engineer will join the Operations and Enterprise Digital Technology & Innovation (DTI) team to support the North Carolina site as the local representative of the Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) team.
This role is responsible for the security, compliance, and performance of network infrastructure in our North Carolina facility. You will work with a team of talented network engineers and architects who are accountable for security, compliance, and performance. You will also collaborate with other IT teams, such as Data Center Operations, Information Security, Service Management, and Internal Business Partners, to ensure alignment and integration of network solutions with business objectives. You will also support vendor relationships, contracts, and service-level agreements. By joining our North Carolina facility, you'll be at the forefront of biotechnology innovation, working with cutting-edge technologies in a state-of-the-art manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain our complex network infrastructure, including routing, switching, WANs, wireless, IPAM, DNS, and DHCP.
Configure and troubleshoot Infoblox appliances and F5 load balancers.
Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
Implement and maintain network automation solutions to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
Stay up to date on the latest network technologies and trends.
Document network configurations and procedures.
Proactively identify and address potential network issues, providing solutions and recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Travel: Domestic and international travel up to 15% may be essential
What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:
Master’s degree
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Information Systems and network engineering experience
Or
Associate’s degree and 6 years of Information Systems and network engineering experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Information Systems and network engineering experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of Routing, Switching, WAN and SD-WAN, Wireless, Infoblox, and F5s.
Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform) is a plus.
Working knowledge of AI/ML concepts and their application in network operations is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
