Amgen Packaging Maintenance Manager in Dun-Laoghaire-Rathdown, Ireland

The Packaging Maintenance Manager manages the packaging maintenance technicians and is responsible for appropriate allocation of technicians to meet shift targets. The Manager's goal is to support the team to minimise equipment downtime, provide effective support to equipment breakdown and manage the execution of the maintenance plan.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Aligns the team with the Maintenance vision, mission, strategies and goals.

  • Implements Preventative Maintenance & weekly production activities per plan.

  • Ensures effective shift handover communication.

  • Escalates and communicates effectively to Engineering & Production FLM's.

  • Effectively assigns Preventative, Corrective and General Maintenance work to technicians.

  • Sets shift daily, weekly and monthly targets.

  • Maintains a high level of team Safety, Quality, Documentation and Training compliance.

  • Conduct safety walks and lead investigations into incidents.

  • Maintains team skills matrix and identifies skills training needs annually.

  • Highlights capacity constraints for weekly and monthly planning meetings

  • Aligns forecasted maintenance hours with plan.

  • Minimizes maintenance downtime, schedule break in

  • Identifies preventative actions to eliminate work flow interrupters.

  • Ensures there is an effective response to Emergencies & Critical Equipment Breakdown.

  • Develops maintenance troubleshooting skills and tools, documents issue investigation.

  • Identifies waste through effective oversight and review of work completed.

  • Supports project implementation activities.

Primary Knowledge, Skills, competencies and relevant experience.

  • Trade Certified Technician with management qualification or experienced Manager

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 2-3 years' management experience desirable

  • Experience in GMP regulated environment with knowledge of safety standards
