Sr. Manager Supply Chain – Warehouse and Dispensary - Amgen Dun Laoghaire - Dublin

Overview :

This position will report to the Director of Supply Chain. The ideal candidate will provide strong management and leadership in the Warehouse and Dispensary areas and within the Supply Chain function. Previous experience with Aseptic Manufacturing and/or Warehousing is a distinct advantage. The priority competencies for this individual are strong people management, a high focus on systems, safety and compliance and an ability to maintain communication and strong relationships with internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leads the Warehousing and Dispensary Operational team to meet the required standard of output, control, quality and utilisation of manpower and equipment within agreed budgets.

• Ensures that materials and products are receipted, stored, moved, shipped, and staged for production according to the appropriate documentation and regulations.

• Manages the operations of the area while ensuring smooth and consistent supply of material to customers.

• Partners with Warehouse Support group on the development, revision, review, and approval of all Standard Operating Procedures that are owned by the Warehouse and Dispensary and ensures their strict implementation.

• Ensures that all GMP records are evaluated by an authorised person before they are sent to the Quality Assurance Department.

• Ensures area compliance standards for regulatory agencies audits and inspections.

• Ensures that the facility has the proper equipment which is compliant with all safety and GMP requirements.

• Responsible for ensuring that all maintenance is carried out under GMP conditions and in a safe working environment.

• Maintains regular contact and effective relationships with Global Supply Chain Hub to ensure that the site has the appropriate service and support from a Transportation and Trade Compliance perspective.

• Ensures effective two-way communication within the plant, with peers and groups internally and externally.

• Ensures that the required initial and continuing training of departmental personnel is carried out and adapted according to needs of the business and regulations, which may involve developing training material.

• Expands capabilities by working closely with senior staff/experts within and outside the internal organisation.

• Develops and maintains a suitable Management System within the area to provide structure and the necessary communication channels both within and external to Supply Chain.

• Partners with Warehouse Support group on the development and maintenance of the Business continuity plans for the area.

• Applies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations/problems using multiple sources of information.

• Applies the principles of Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence to drive improvements in compliance, safety and cost.

• Develops improvement strategies across the Warehousing and Dispensary areas.

• Supports the area in the project approval, prioritization, and implementation process.

• Develop metrics to support the benchmarking of site, global, and industry and to drive performance.

• Partners cross functionally to ensure GMP, EH&S and Import/Export compliance.

• Creates, establishes and maintains an environment that encourages a strong culture of teamwork, accountability and commitment on site.

• Develops and maintains an effective organisation through selection, teaching, leadership and development management.

• Develop, maintain, and justify the departments’ budgets based on current and future business drivers.

• Provides direction on departmental and/or site priorities.

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically, 10+ years of experience in industrial environment. With typically 5+ years' experience supervising staff.

• Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and/or years of experience.

• Ideally previous experience working within the Pharmaceutical, and/or manufacturing industries would be highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of warehousing, aseptic processing

• Systems knowledge SAP / PAS-X.

• Knowledge of conflict resolution.

• Ability to partner with other departments.

• Analytical problem solving.

• Considerable Organization skills.

• Experience in coaching and mentoring.

• Ability to deal with and manage change.

• Ability to set goals.

• Knowledge of applicable regulatory guidelines.

Team leadership skills: Supervision, delegation, coaching and mentoring, conflict resolution.
