Job Description Level 6 Risk Management Summary
This new role will be responsible to lead, support and provide expert direction on risk management, strategy, projects, facilitation and workshops and will work closely with business partners in Supply Chain, Operations Strategic Planning & Risk (OSPR), Patient Supply and Senior Leadership.
This position will report to the Director of Risk & Business Performance and provides program support throughout the Operations function and the Operations Risk Network within areas of risk prevention/control and business continuity management for response/recovery for Amgen Dun Laoghaire within the Global Organisation. This role will have a dotted line relationship to the Director of Supply Chain to support and align on supply risk mitigation activities for ADL.
The Senior Manager for Risk Management will lead and co-ordinate the design, development, and execution of programs and initiatives supporting the risk management strategy of ADL, which includes, identifying data needs, gathering data (quantitative and qualitative), analysing data, developing recommendations and creating presentations around recommendations. The role will be responsible for co-ordinating the ADL Business Units in the identification, monitoring and mitigation of operational risks in alignment with the overarching Risk Management and Business Continuity programs to ensure consistency and integration of risk into business processes. Identification of potential systematic gaps and develop and propose remediations plans for implementation. Build and develop partnership models through the business to utilise data and insights to look at innovate ways to assess and inform risk control strategy and results. Establishes and implements business resilience processes and methodologies to ensure we serve every patient, every time by delivering on time, within budget, and adhering to high quality standards.
Provides leadership and direction to the execution of the risk management program and Business Continuity & Crisis Management for operations at the site. Participates as a core team member of the Site Risk Management team overseeing risk activity review, prioritisation, and overall risk program support for business units. Supports the development, execution and communication of the site risk management plan.
Builds technical expertise, and through integration with other site processes ensures success, continuous improvement, and longevity of the RM program at the site. Acquires and shares risk information from ADL business units, the Amgen network, or external sources to implement lessons learned and best practices.
Provides the site governance team with various portfolio analysis reports and updates, that will allow understanding of overall risk level at the business unit presenting data to articulate the requirements and path forward.
Key leadership skills to manage direct reports for talent planning, development and motivation. Goal setting and tracking in line with site priorities strengthening the team and capabilities.
Oversees all record keeping required to maintain the risk portfolio and reporting and documentation needed to support Risk Management governance.
Leads and directs Risk Mitigation owners through regular meetings to monitor the status of all risks and actions defined in the portfolio for the business unit. Ensures alignment of business unit activities with site risk management program, corporate policy, standards, and strategies.
Proficiency in developing presentations to facilitate meaningful discussions with clearly communicated analysis, findings and impact to influence and advise business decisions.
Provide guidance to the teams on accurate and timely risk assessments and rankings developing risk analytics and reporting dashboards to support management review and inform decision making.
Assists in the development, implementation, and analysis of risk assessments, maturity models, and other risk related tools.
Develop and document business processes in the form of process flows, SOPs/business practice documents, and templates. Owns and manages the site set of risk assessments and tools.
Track, monitor, and update team goals, metrics, performance boards and reports, and manages administration of Risk Management Training program.
Doctorate degree and 4 years of directly related experience or
Master’s degree and 6 years of directly related experience or
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of directly related experience and
4 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.
Related experience in Operations, Project Management, Risk Management, Quality and EH&S experience is desirable with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple and diverse projects.
Direct experience with regulated environments (i.e. cGMP, OSHA, EPA) preferred.
Experience with risk assessment tools and methodologies (FMEA).
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), facilitation and presentation skills.
Good organizational and Technical writing skills. SME in Excel and PowerPoint and risk tools.
