The Role:

  • This position is a Regional Medical Liaison (RML) field-based position for the Haematology and Oncology therapy areas, covering all of the Republic of Ireland.

  • This role will involve work relating to Amgen's products in multiple myeloma, metastatic tumours with bone metastases and colorectal cancer as part of a highly visible and critically important Irish medical team. As such, this role demands an experienced professional with a proven ability to effectively communicate complex scientific matters with stakeholders at all levels. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and proactive as well as being a dedicated team-player.

  • The RML will interact with key opinion leaders/healthcare professionals to communicate and advance the scientific platform, as aligned with Amgen's corporate goals, objectives and affiliate medical plans and provide feedback based on those field interactions.

  • The RML will foster relationships with key healthcare professionals including key registrars and nurses. The RML is an integral position in assuring accuracy in communication of our science and products across the medical community.

  • The RML will communicate complex cutting edge, scientific information and research concepts to healthcare professionals and support development of local evidence generation: investigator sponsored studies, observational research and Amgen sponsored research.

  • The RML will foster relationships with patient associations and work closely with these bodies in projects to help patients. The RML will work closely with Access bringing insights and helping create patient-centric value-based healthcare solutions.

  • This role requires strong communication and presentation skills as well as proficiency creating and delivering information digitally

  • The RML is expected to have expert knowledge of product data within their remit and provide support with training and examination of other team members when required.

  • The RML will represent Amgen medical department in the field within the Haematology-oncology area in compliance with local and Amgen regulatory standards.

Location: Field Based covering all of Ireland.

Basic Qualifications:

Scientific or medical qualification

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree (post-graduate diploma or MSc) plus or minus business qualification. Demonstration of utilising scientific knowledge in business and healthcare environment.

Experience:

Essential:

  • Significant experience in a field-based role in the pharma/biotech industry

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

Preferred:

  • Experience in the haematology/oncology field in industry/hospital setting

  • Network of customer contacts in haematology/oncology field

  • Knowledge of real world evidence, value-based healthcare solutions and healthcare partnerships

  • Experience of working closely with sales, marketing and access teams

  • Experienced in the exchange of scientific data and insights gathering
