We are currently seeking a candidate capable of contributing to our Drug Discovery programs, who will be part of a team bringing the projects from hit discovery though lead optimization in collaboration with our colleagues in the US and other sites around the world. As a member of the Discovery Unit II, you will be offered scientific challenges within an exciting field of Drug Discovery including the DEL technology, data mining, hit validation and optimization. The position will involve bench work, as well as interpretation of biological data and design of new analogues. You will be closely working together with other medicinal chemists as well as biologists and participate with your chemistry expertise in the process of identifying, synthesizing, validating and optimizing hits from our DEL libraries in order to reach company goals.
Specifically, tasks will include:
· Synthesis and characterization of screening hits
· Synthesis of tool compounds
· Development of synthesis strategies
· Guidance of CRO chemists
· Interpretation of biological data
· Designing optimization of hits
· Present scientific results at team meetings
· Teamwork in an international environment

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or related disciplines with a solid understanding of Organic and Medicinal chemistry. The ideal candidate will have:
· Strong theoretical and hands-on experience within organic synthesis
· Knowledge of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery
· Good command of the most used software
· Excellent collaborations and team player skills
· Excellent English communication skills
· Outspoken personality with an urge for creating results
