Undergrad Intern – Operations (Biological Relevance and Characterization)

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. During this program you will work under the guidance of Potency and Characterization group in Attribute Sciences and will learn about data systems and method data analysis used for potency results.
Query existing electronic systems using SQL and design new ways to more readily parse & interact with large amounts of bioassay data generated within electronic lab notebook systems
Participate in cross-functional teams between a wide array of functional groups within and outside of Process Development
Learn principles of bioassay design and points of method variability to inform development of bioassay method performance dashboards in TIBCO Spotfire
Provide insight from method monitoring to contribute to bioassay method troubleshooting efforts
Use real-world data sets with a tangible goal for an intern interested in data science and method parameter analytics

Amgen requires that all individuals applying for a grad internship or a co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelor’s Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
Enrolled in a full time Bachelor’s degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Degree concentration(s) in biology, computer science, or related fields
Familiarity with SQL, querying, visualization report design, and data analytics/visualization software (e.g. Spotfire)
Current sophomore or junior standing
Detail oriented and able to work collaboratively in a team-based and regulated environment
Utilize innovative thinking to contribute to technology development
Communicates effectively with others
