The Team:

The Biosimilar Business has been newly created in Europe.

This is a great opportunity to launch a full pipeline of Biosimilars in the field across a number of therapy areas and be part of the new Biosimilars Business Unit for UK and Ireland.

This Marketing Manager, Biosimilars role will have an oncology focus, will be part of a cross-functional team and will report directly to the Director Biosimilars, UK.

The Role:

Reporting directly into the Director Biosimilars UK, this is a critical role within our growing Biosimilars team. Working closely with the Marketing Senior Manager and Director, this role will act as the Brand Ambassador for the UK, with responsibility across all marketing activity for Oncology Biosimilars and sharing best practice internationally and globally.

As the UK first point of contact for the European Brand team, the incumbent will play a key role as part of a cross-functional team to develop and deliver full brand plans in strategic alignment with the global brand team.



  • Short and long range sales forecasting with support from senior manager

  • Agreeing &managing direct operating expense , & proposing optimal people investment

Cross Functional Brand Team Leadership

  • Independent leadership of the cross-functional brand team

  • Country brand ambassador

  • Provides training and guidance to others

Strategic Brand Planning

  • Responsible for development and delivery of full brand plan

  • Input into co-creation of European materials and tactical plan

  • Gathers customer and patient journey insights, clearly identifies brand opportunities and defines implications on brand strategy

  • Identifies Value Based Health Care (VBHC) opportunities, implements solutions and shares best practice

  • Independent analysis &interpretation of sales data, key performance indicators, market research & trends. Takes corrective action as required.

  • Utilises market research, and understanding of leading industry practices to inform development of Amgen's marketing practices

  • Development, delivery & evaluation of integrated multichannel marketing plan & execution of activities which may be across one or more products/countries

  • Maintenance of relationship with vendors, holding them accountable as appropriate

  • Develops and implements market segmentation (customer and account) and tailors marketing communication plan to selected segments

  • Leads sales team on message delivery and brand adoption ladder

  • Designing and leading Patient Support Programmes

  • Leads XFT discussions on pricing, reimbursement and access decisions

  • Some national & international travel will be required (e.g. customer visits, congress, company meetings , travel to UK/Ireland)

Location: Uxbridge or Cambridge

Basic qualifications:

  • Marketing or Business qualification (degree, professional marketing qualification (e.g. CIM Professional Diploma/MII or similar, or working towards)

  • Degree/Professional Diploma with science background (or equivalently qualified by demonstrated experience in product management)

  • Experience of customer facing sales/local access or account manager role (with proven documented success)

  • Excellent industry and healthcare system knowledge

  • Demonstrated strong financial acumen and analytical capability

  • Fully fluent in regulatory framework and code of practice (ABPI / IPHA)

  • Experience of working with/leading a cross functional team

  • Experience of working with multichannel including digital

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialized Oncology Therapeutic Area knowledge

  • Experience of marketing at different stages of the product lifecycle which could include a specific project

  • Experience of insight gathering and implications on activities

  • Experience of influencing a team without reporting line authority

  • VBHC experience
