Amgen Sr Associate Supply Chain in Cairo, Egypt


This role will require robust experience in a broad range of Supply Chain and Life-Cycle Management processes and close cross-functional and regional collaboration to successfully ensure uninterrupted supply of products to patients in, Egypt, Iran and Sudan (TMEA Region/ Egypt Cluster)


*Lead all cluster related Customer Service tasks e.g. Order in-take & management, Customs & Import Permits including communication with Amgen customers

*Require and assume ownership of Finished Goods inventory in market ensuring adequate shelf-life and minimal inventory scrap due to demand variations

*Manage all locally derived NCs/CAPAs & Labeling Exemptions to Amgen global standards

*Assist in local Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process

*Write & maintain local SOPs

*Assist and report on Supply Chain Key Performance Indicators

*Provide key updates to Country, Regional and/or Global leadership on status of projects

*Lead in-market Launch Readiness in collaboration with TMEA ROLs

*Support set up of local Planning and Change Control Management systems

*Lead/participate in cross-functional teams with Site, Regional and Global SC, Artwork, Quality, Commercial, Customer Service, Warehouse, Procurement, Finance and Regulatory to ensure timely completion of project tasks and delivery of project objectives

*Distributor management.

*Applies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret situations/problems using multiple sources of information: qualitative information, quantitative research and trend data

*Accountable for creation and maintenance of Master Data elements in SAP for support of country Planning and Life-Cycle events (i.e. launches, re-supply, etc.) - MRP views, etc.

*Manage Custom's broker relationship and coordinate import activities.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of directly related experience.

  • Fluent in English & Arabic (verbal and written)

  • The candidate will have a basic understanding and hands-on experience in Supply Chain processes:

  • Demand Management

  • Supply Management

  • Inventory Management

  • Importation Process

  • Customs Clearance

  • ERP Master Data

  • SAP experience

  • Product Launches and Variations

Preferred Requirements

  • Education in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Operations, or knowledge by experience in these areas with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain

  • Experience in the start-up and/or product launches in a pharmaceutical or bio/pharmaceutical company

  • GMP knowledge and understanding of pharmaceutical or bio/pharmaceutical regulations and business principles ERP expertise in Planning and Master Data

management - experience preferred is SAP

  • Understanding of cluster market requirements and variables


  • Project Management Skills

  • Good negotiating and influencing skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

  • Accurate and detail focused, but flexible to flow to the work

  • Ability to work under minimal direction in a matrix environment and different cultures

  • Fluent in Arabic and English
