At Amgen Breda medicines are labelled, assembled, stored and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people with 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.


What you will do

The Amgen owned facilities in Breda cover seven buildings, including GMP manufacturing, warehouse and cold-store, offices and utilities. Facilities Maintenance is responsible for the building infrastructure which include electrical power, high density warehouse storage systems, HVAC, chilled water, boilers, cold rooms and chambers, life safety (doors, fire alarm, fire suppression, power), plumbing and building management systems.

As Senior Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for all electrical installations and work equipment and ensure compliance with the European and Dutch regulations, Amgen`s standards and Good Engineering Practices. You will be a key-player in our sustainability projects to meet our 2027 targets. Another objective is to optimize the reliability of the electrical systems and contribute to capital investment projects. Are you up for the challenge?

  • Lead all aspects of the electrical installations and electrical work equipment to ensure compliance with Dutch Law and Regulations regarding Electrical Safety for IWJ / WV (NEN3140).

  • Coordinate the maintenance of the installations and equipment, by regular inspections and timely follow up.

  • Assess whether the electrical system is adequate in the event of changes in circumstances.

  • Decide if operational management allows all parts of an electrical installation to be de-energized before start-up of the activities.

  • Support Continual Improvement initiatives, programs and projects, such as equipment reliability and sustainability.

  • Coordinate unplanned maintenance and technical issues: tackle and advise.

  • Evaluate equipment behavior, co-lead development of maintenance concepts and design and implement modifications.

  • Technically support for, reviewing and set up of validation documents for new product launches and capital projects.

  • Represent the Site Engineering unit during audits and inspections as needed and alert senior management of safety, compliance and business risks.


What we expect of you

We are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The electrical specialist we seek is an effective communicator with these qualifications:

  • MBO degree level 4 in electrical engineering or equivalent and minimum of 5 years relevant work experience with NEN3140 activities.

  • We are also interested in meeting candidates with a Bachelor or Masters degree in electrical or industrial engineering with some years of experience! Willing to get NEN 3140 certified as “installatieverantwoordelijke”.

  • Proficiency in English, both in oral and written communication Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong technical & analytical skills.

  • Preferably experience in a regulated environment (pharmaceutical, medical devices, food, chemical or equivalent).

  • Preferably Knowledge of ARBO Regulations.
