Distribution Inventory planner

At Amgen Breda medicines are labelled, assembled, stored and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. Every day more than 1000 people with 38 different nationalities are working on supply chain processes, manufacturing, marketing and sales of our medicines and clinical research into new medicines.

Process Development, Operations and Quality (POQ) are the core divisions of Amgen that make sure the drugs are delivered to our patients. Made up of seven functions and spread across seven sites, the POQ’s aspiration is simple: Supply every patient, every time!

What you will do

Schedule Finished Drug Product (FDP) inventory against set levels while optimizing distribution efficiency. Meanwhile you coordinate timely shipment & delivery of FDP with external groups (Warehouse, Planning, Global Distribution, and third parties). Furthermore, perform stock reconciliation between 3rd party inventory and Amgen inventory levels and find root causes of any discrepancies.

You will Actively partner with 3rd party counterparts and Amgen stakeholders to minimize and resolve inventory discrepancies. Execute system transactions to enable stock movements and ensure timely release at destination. Act as Business Process Owner (BPO) for Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP). Key responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels to prioritize the shipping schedule & collaborating with planning on timely release of production batches in alignment with the shipping schedule. Furthermore, you will Execute internal network FDP inventory return movements.

In order to do this effectively you will develop and maintain effective partnering relationships with third parties and internal stakeholders. Outside of the daily operation you will support change management and operational excellence initiatives to improve process performance.

  • Driving an Efficient and effective DRP process.

  • Timely follow up and closure of all inventory discrepancies.

  • Contribution to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects or activities within own department or as business process owner.

  • Weekly & monthly stock reconciliation reports.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Analytics.

  • 3 years relevant (planning/DRP) working experience in a supply chain (plan to stock) environment.

  • Experience in working in an international environment, ability to liaise/communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Fluency in English, in both oral and written communication.

  • Ability to analyze abstract and complex problems requiring evaluation of large data sets and multiple variables.

Preferred requirements

  • Solid understanding of GDP and pharmaceutical regulations and awareness of biopharmaceutical commercial and supply chain trends and developments.

  • 3 years relevant working experience with SAP-ERP environment and manufacturing demand/supply planning software tool, preferably Kinaxis RapidResponse.

  • Issue resolution impacting service delivery including appropriate escalation.

  • Analytical and conceptual thinking.

  • Works under general direction.

  • Deliver results through negotiation and influencing skills and being organizationally savvy.

  • Screens, categorizes, evaluates, reconciles, reports and resolves data integrity issues.

  • Interprets generally defined practices and methods.

  • Estimate and set project timeframes and priorities based on project objectives and ongoing assignments.
