Amgen Senior Maintenance Technician in Woburn, Massachusetts

2nd Shift (2:45pm - 11:15pm) Monday - Friday

Responsible to provide technical, operational, and maintenance support to the Fill and Finish manufacturing area under a highly regulated and controlled cGMP environment.


Perform corrective and preventative maintenance activities in production equipment as directed by management personnel. Perform general maintenance activities in accordance with established procedures, approved practices, and/or direction of technical support personnel All maintenance activities will be conducted and documented in accordance with established quality systems and MAXIMO CMMS Program

Perform equipment set up as deemed necessary per applicable procedures in Aseptic and Controlled Areas.

Troubleshoot/diagnose equipment related malfunctioning and be able to use their expertise to identify the cause of the problem, and take permanent corrective actions.

Ensure safe work environment by following all safety and ergonomic rules, including any special personal protective equipment (PPE) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) applying to a particular process or area.

Maintain clean and orderly work area and participate in safety improvement projects.

Develop, revise, and review related SOPs or job plans/work plans for work related areas.

Plan and schedule own work activities with operations staff to minimize impact to production activities.

Provide basic support of start-up of new equipment to ensure it meets all mechanical design specifications.

Plan, schedule and prioritize daily and weekly work activities as initiated by supervision.

Basic Qualifications

Associate's degree and 4 years of Maintenance experience OR

High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Maintenance experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor Science in Electronic Technology or equivalent degree.

5+ Years of applicable experience in a cGMP biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Knowledge/Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers, process control, pneumatic, electrical and mechanical systems.

Experience using personal computers applications, such as e-mail, word processor, excel and internet applications, Visual Basics, etc.

Knowledge about robotic applications and automated processes.

Direct experience operating, troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing process equipment like Liquid Fillers, Capper, Autoclaves, Ultrasonic Cleaners, Mixers, Tanks and Vision Systems.

Ability to diagnose and correct a wide array of mechanical or electrical equipment issues.

Demonstrated ability to read/use basic electrical and mechanical drawings, technical mathematics, blueprints, electrical/electronic schematics and technical tools and electrical/electronic equipment.
