Amgen is seeking a Sr. Associate IS Business Systems Analyst at its corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA to join the Global Commercial Operations IS (GCOIS) Organization and support the US Contracts & Pricing organization's business processes that are enabled by IS platforms. The Sr. Associate will report to the Senior Manager Information Systems. Core responsibilities include leveraging existing technologies to drive efficiencies and effectiveness throughout the US Contract and Pricing processes. This is a cross functional role that requires collaboration with peer groups across different organizations and functions.

GCOIS is responsible for partnering with Amgen's Global Commercial Operations organization to deliver technology services and solutions that achieve corporate strategies and business plans. This role will service US Business Operations.

Key responsibilities of the Business Systems Analyst include but are not limited to the following:

Act as the Contracts & Pricing Business Analyst supporting the Trade, Pricing and Contract Management (TPCM) business unit. Responsibilities include managing/prioritizing all IS operational and project deliverables.

Analyze and recommend IS solutions and improvements that align to business strategic goals

Provide domain and technology support for the business area, including eliciting and documenting business requirements, developing and reviewing design specifications, test planning and execution, and executing change management processes

Help define and execute a streamlined service that allows more time to be spent on new capabilities, while ensuring the current capabilities are stable and efficient

Manage the client area IS portfolio and client expectations relative to service delivery of IS capabilities

Effectively communicating with business and IS stakeholders, working cross-functionally across business and IS organizations to ensure alignment

Collaborate with peers in Life Sciences to align and apply best practices as appropriate

Basic Qualifications

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as an IS business analyst in the US Pharma / Biotech industry, including identification of non-technical business requirements, translating specifications into solution designs, planning implementations, ensuring quality and successful testing, financial and resource management, documentation and training

Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills (i.e. effectively promote and negotiate business cases or ideas; influence stakeholders using data and insights)

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment. Self-starter with hands-on attitude

Proven analytical thinking and problem solving capability

Possess technical skills and fluency with Oracle and PL/SQL fundamentals. Demonstrated proficiency in writing SQL queries for data extracts, to diagnose data related application errors, and to support data analysis and reconciliations

Experience collaborating and achieving results across highly matrixed organization, including non-technical stakeholders, compliance teams, IS peers, vendors and other IT teams

Strong project management and organizational skills including effective delegation techniques, strong issues and risk management experience, and strong intra-team coordination skills

Ability to quickly understand new business processes and to recognize the relevant business questions associated with a business process

Experience in facilitating requirements gathering for complex solutions that involve multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
