Amgen Sr Associate - Channel Payments in Thousand Oaks, California

As a key member of the Channel Management Operations team within Trade Pricing and Contract Management (TPCM), this position is primarily responsible for accurately interpreting and developing contract discount programs in the Global Contracts and Pricing System (GCPS) to support calculation, execution and reporting of wholesaler distribution fee payments.

This position is responsible for ensuring the payment process, documentation and execution are performed in accordance with US Contracts and Pricing Operations, Government Pricing, Sarbanes Oxley and other applicable policies. This role requires close collaboration with several cross-functional groups including Trade, IS, Pricing, Government Pricing and Legal. Position operates within a fast-paced environment and the ideal candidate will possess the ability to take initiative, resolve complex contract and pricing issues, work independently and exercise appropriate business judgment.

Responsibilities include participation and leadership of planned and ad-hoc key initiatives across multiple Amgen functions as well as with outside vendors; monitor contract changes and collaborate with IS to develop application requirements to ensure operational feasibility and process efficiency; and identify and recommend process improvements and lead implementation efforts

Specific Responsibilities:

Develops spreadsheet models for moderately complex financial analyses

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree

OR

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Contract and Pricing operations experience AND/OR Sales

Operations experience AND/OR Finance experience AND/OR Project Management experience

AND/OR or Business Operations experience

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of Contract and Pricing operations experience AND/OR Sales

Operations experience AND/OR Finance experience AND/OR Project Management experience

AND/OR or Business Operations experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Contract and Pricing operations experience AND/OR

Sales Operations experience AND/OR Finance experience AND/OR Project Management experience AND/OR or Business Operations experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

4+ years of experience in related field in Sales & Marketing, Finance, Contracts or Project Management

Internal Amgen experience or experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech environment

Advanced computer & M/S Office skills with emphasis in Excel.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
