Amgen Senior Maintenance Technician in Thousand Oaks, California

Amgen is looking for a Senior Maintenance Technician to join our team who will be responsible for performing advanced installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, testing and documentation/logs of a wide variety of manufacturing, utility and facility equipment used at Thousand Oaks B7 EpogenĀ® (EPO) manufacturing operations.

The Sr. Maintenance Technician will be responsible for developing, writing and completing various quality systems and safety documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Change Control (CCMS), Non-Conformance (NC), Work Orders (WO), Job Plans (JP), Hazard Risk Assessments (HRA) and Job Hazard Assessments (JHA). In addition, they are responsible for various aspects of building, utility and production systems/equipment. The Senior Maintenance Technician ensures all work is completed in a safe (in accordance to Hazard Risk Assessment (HRA) and Job Hazard Assessment (JHA) and timely manner according to planning and predefined schedules with minimal impact to production while complying with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), SOP, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and Amgen policies and regulations.

Additional Responsibilities:

Interact with peers and clients in manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, utility plants and contracted services

Provide training for staff, clients and projects

Provide audit support

Review and approve maintenance reports, forms, plans and records

Develop, revise and review equipment, maintenance or other related procedures

Interpret and revise loops sheets, electrical schematics, P&ID's, I/O wiring and panel drawings

Basic Qualifications

Associate's degree and 4 years of Maintenance experience


High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in building maintenance, mechanical maintenance, plant engineering or related technical discipline

Experience in an FDA regulated environment (GMP)

Advanced knowledge of HVAC, Air Handlers, Refrigeration and equipment controls in a manufacturing facility

Knowledge of pneumatic, mechanical and hydraulic fundamentals, as well as, skills in the use of power and hand tools in the building trades, such as plumbing and electrical

Participate in On-Call rotation for after hour's facility and manufacturing support and work outside of established shift hours upon short notice

Effective oral and written communication skills

Excellent reading skills along with intermediate to advanced computer and typing skills
