Amgen Senior Associate Scientist - Molecular Biology in Thousand Oaks, California
Amgen is seeking a motivated and experienced molecular biologist to join the Biologics Optimization team at our state-of-the-art research facility at Amgen headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA. The Biologics Optimization group is responsible for the optimization, production, assessment, and selection of large molecule drug candidates. We are a multidisciplinary team with capabilities in molecule design, cloning, expression, purification and analysis of therapeutic proteins.
The Senior Associate Scientist will apply their knowledge of DNA cloning for recombinant protein production to support a high-throughput cloning pipeline for large molecule therapeutics. In addition, the successful candidate will contribute to innovation in the design and production of biologics through strategies such as vector engineering for mammalian expression, cloning and expression process optimization, and large molecule modality engineering.
Master's degree and 3 years of scientific experience
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of scientific experience
Strong track record of independent scientific experimental work
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work flexibly in a cross functional team environment
Expertise in modern molecular biology techniques such as Golden Gate, Gibson, or Seamless cloning
Familiarity with antibody and/or bispecific antibody sequence and structure
Expertise in mammalian cell culture
