Amgen is seeking an Information Systems Manager at its corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA to join the Global Commercial Operations IS (GCOIS) Organization and support the US Contracts & Pricing organization's evolving needs emerging from competitive and healthcare policy dynamics. The Information Systems Manager will report to the Senior Manager Information Systems and will focus on identifying opportunities to deliver IS platform and service solutions that address evolving business needs. In addition, the Information Systems Manager will be responsible for driving execution excellence in delivering retail IS services to the Contracts & Pricing organization. This is a cross-functional, business relationship and service delivery role that involves collaboration with Business, Finance, IS, and external vendors. The Information Manager requires excellence in business engagement and communication skills, and experience in delivering IS services that enable business capabilities with a mix of cloud-based platforms and services.

The portfolio of services in the US Contracts & Pricing space includes integrating core systems with master data platforms, ERP systems, vendor-hosted services, and reporting & analytics tools built on Amgen's data lake platform.

GCOIS is responsible for partnering with Amgen's Global Commercial Operations organization to deliver technology services and solutions that achieve corporate strategies and business plans. This role will service US Business Operations

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Build and manage relationships with business and IS functions, and drive technology initiatives in the US Contracts & Pricing space

Create, develop and deliver technical solutions that span from transactional systems to cutting-edge analytics and automation

Lead & drive the ideation and development of innovative solutions and project managing their execution

Align key stakeholders, facilitate consensus, and manage cross-functional teams to ensure that assessment / implementation activities are executed efficiently and successfully

Drive the operational aspects of IS service delivery across platform lifecycles

Vendor Management and oversight

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate Degree


Master's Degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience


Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience


Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience


High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

Strong organizational, planning and project management skills including effective delegation techniques, strong issues and risk management experience, and strong intra-team coordination skills

Working knowledge of LEAN/AGILE software development methodologies and cloud technologies

Experience with ideating, delivering and running cloud-based IS services and external SaaS platforms

Strong service management background including provide ability to structure and manage service communications, SLAs, OLAs, service-based SOW / contracts, etc. Experience running operational services for technology platforms

Experience collaborating and achieving results across highly matrixed organization, including non-technical stakeholders, compliance teams, IS peers, vendors and other IT teams

Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills (i.e. effectively promote and negotiate business cases or ideas; influence stakeholders using data and insights)

Ability to think strategically about technology and recommend solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the greatest business impact

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment. Self-starter with hands-on attitude

Proven analytical thinking and problem solving capability
