Amgen is seeking a Specialist Information Systems Business Systems Analyst in our main headquarters in Thousand Oaks, CA to join the Global Commercial Operations Information Systems (GCOIS) group as Business Unit Technology Lead for the Inflammation Nephrology Business Unit (INBU). GCOIS is responsible for partnering with Amgen's Global Commercial Operations organization to deliver technology services and solutions that achieve corporate strategies and business plans. The specialist will own technology strategy and be accountable for all technology projects related to sales and marketing in the INBU and will be the face of IS and the technology subject matter expert to the sales, marketing, and promotions teams.

Global Commercial Operations Information Systems (GCOIS) is accountable for the delivery of the information and technology systems that enable the successful marketing and sales of Amgen products. GCOIS manages the development and execution of the technology strategy, architecture and operations by delivering business information systems, automation, IS services and digital technology solutions and devices.

Key Activities for the Specialist Information Systems include:

Commercial technology strategic lead for INBU sales & marketing related to web, mobile applications, campaign management, reporting & analytics, and customer relationship management

Liaison between sales & marketing teams and IS services. Single IS point of contact for the INBU

Advises on technology strategy across all INBU brands and functional areas

Independently researches and sustains domain expertise on current trends, strategies, and technologies to help move Amgen's sales and marketing technology forward

Manages a team of project managers to implement and execute technology projects for INBU brands

Travel: Domestic 5-10% may be essential.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree


Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems and/ or Sales & Marketing


Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems and/ or Sales & Marketing


Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems and/ or Sales & Marketing


High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems and/ or Sales & Marketing

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business or related field

5+ years related experience within bio/pharma corporate function or heavily regulated industry

Ability to work in a changing environment, under pressure, handing multiple projects at once

Excellent Communication skills to communicate fluently across and up through organization, including escalation and mitigation of issues, risks and business impacts

Ability to think strategically about technology and recommend solutions that align with business strategy and achieve the greatest business impact

Experience working with marketing and sales technologies including websites (development, web traffic analytics, SEO/SEM, Content Management Systems, etc), mobile applications, reporting visualization tools, database and interface design, campaign management systems, marketing automation, and customer relationship management

Advanced problem solving capabilities and ability to use barriers as opportunities

Deep understanding of Agile and Lean Startup principles

Strong project management, scheduling, and requirements management skills and experience

Deep understanding of Amgen business, processes and technology capabilities
