Amgen Finance Senior Associate in Thousand Oaks, California

Amgen is searching for a Finance Senior Associate at its corporate campus in Thousand Oaks, CA location to join the Cost Of Sales Financial Planning & Analysis team (COS FP&A). The Senior Associate will report to the Finance Sr. Manager who will play a key role in supporting Operations and Finance leadership in the area of Cost of Sales (COS) and Inventory. The Senior Associate will be supporting planning activities for COS, including Budget, Forecast, and Long Range Planning.

COS FP&A provides financial and analytical support to Operations and Finance leadership in the area of Amgen's worldwide Cost of Sales.

Key activities for the Finance Senior Associate include:

Supporting Accounting monthly close and quarter end activities for COS and inventory

Preparing various management reports on COS and Inventory; understanding and communicating key variance drivers/insights

Assisting inventory forecasting and reconciliation analysis

Providing key financial support and analysis on an ad-hoc basis to clients such as Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis, Corporate Accounting, Supply Chain and Global Commercial Operations

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Finance experience

OR

Associate's degree and 6 years of Finance experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 8 years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong financial modeling (i.e. Microsoft Excel) skills; i.e. the ability to build and maintain complex Excel models with minimal supervision

Detail oriented, highly motivated with a 'can do' outlook

Strong written and oral communication skills

Familiarity with enterprise planning and reporting tools (Oracle Hyperion, SAP)

Ability to work effectively in teams and manage multiple projects concurrently under time pressure
