Amgen Compliance Program Manager, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption in Thousand Oaks, California


Amgen's anti-bribery & anti-corruption ('ABAC') group sits within Worldwide Compliance & Business Ethics (WC&BE) and is responsible for role-of-center in leading and supporting the company's global ABAC program-related efforts. This position will be responsible for managing various ABAC program-related initiatives and coordinating with stakeholders across regions and departments

Key Responsibilities

Manage elements of Amgen's global ABAC program:Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships with Amgen's management team including key departments (e.g., Corp Audit, Finance, etc.) to ensure program requirements are communicated and effectively operationalized throughout the organization

Manage specific ABAC program-related project and activities

Assist with the implementation of a sustainable (and scalable) ABAC framework based on Amgen's risk profile

Coordinate remediation efforts based on program assessment reviews

Assist with the development and revisions to ABAC policies & procedures, trainings materials, and global ABAC-related communications

Manage Amgen's ABAC due diligence program:Support due diligence re-design efforts to align with Amgen's risk profile

Manage due diligence program implementation and provide day-to-day support to the global functions

Assist with development of global cost sharing model to ensure due diligence-related costs are appropriately allocated to respective regions

Oversee process to analyze, interpret, and operationalize ABAC-related results:Coordinate and support Amgen assurance functions supporting ABAC compliance (i.e., Corporate Audit and Monitoring) to ensure alignment and remediation of issues identified

Remain current on ABAC landscape including investigative and enforcement actions

Organize and facilitate the Company's cross-functional ABAC Working Group meetings

Support Finance's Review of Payments project to ensure ABAC risks identified are appropriately assessed and contemplated and that appropriate actions to address risks identified are implemented

Manage and support other WC&BE initiatives:Manage WC&BE Integrated Risk Assessment Program in support of auditing and monitoring initiatives

Manage Outside of US (OUS) programmatic efforts; coordinate with JAPAC (Japan and Asia Pacific), LACAN (Latin America, Canada, Australia and New Zealand), EU (European Union), and TMEA (Turkey, Middle East, Africa) leads while contemplating feedback from Finance, Commercial, Investigations, Corporate Audit, and Monitoring

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree


Master's degree and 2 years of Compliance, Accounting, Finance or Legal experience


Bachelor's degree and 4 years of Compliance, Accounting, Finance or Legal experience


Associate's degree and 10 years of Compliance, Accounting, Finance or Legal experience


High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Compliance, Accounting, Finance or Legal experience

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

7+ years' of professional work experience, including:

5+ years' of experience in Compliance, ABAC, or life sciences

3+ years' of experience with a 'Big Four' accounting firm

Effective written and oral communication and project management skills

Experience in drafting of policies and procedures and leading training/presentation efforts

Experience and expertise in building positive working relationships with stakeholders including but not limited to Commercial, Legal, Finance, and Corporate Audit

Experience in leading and conducting global risk assessments supporting compliance initiatives

Experience in SAP, including general accounting, disbursements, and sales modules

Certified Internal Audit (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
