Amgen Treasury Senior Manager in Tampa, Florida

Amgen is searching for a Treasury Senior Manager. The Treasury Senior Manager will be focused on hedging Amgen's foreign currency and interest rate risks. This individual contributor role is responsible for hedging Amgen's foreign currency balance sheet and P&L exposures and managing Amgen's fixed and floating interest rate exposure. The Treasury Senior Manager will report to the Treasury Director, and will be located in Amgen's new capability center in Tampa, FL.

Our objective in managing our exposures to foreign currency exchange rate fluctuations is to reduce the impact of adverse currency fluctuations on earnings and cash flows. Accordingly, we utilize foreign currency option contracts and forward contracts to hedge our exposure in several currencies. To manage our interest rate risks, we utilize interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, treasury locks and forward starting swaps.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supervise all aspects of Amgen's foreign currency risk management program

Apply fundamental and technical analysis to create monthly FX trade strategies

Tightly manage P&L exposure forecasts; regularly communicate with FP&A to improve forecast accuracy

Collaborate with other groups (FP&A, GSS, etc.) to proactively identify new foreign currency risks

Make recommendations to senior management on interest rate swaps and other rate derivatives

Own standard reporting requirements for FX and interest rate swaps - LE, Close, Earnings, 10Q/10K, etc.

Address quality issues and build strong relationships with external banks

Monitor Amgen's exposure to financial counterparties and assist in developing models and strategies to mitigate the Company's risk to those counterparties

Understand appropriate Tax, Legal and Accounting positions on both project and process work

Engineer improvements to current policies, procedures and processes

Drive process efficiencies through recommending and testing new system functionality

System owner of both FxAll and Misys. Also, lead all FX and interest rate swap-related issues related to Quantum and Bloomberg

Conduct benchmark studies of peers to evaluate common and best Treasury practices

Ensure hedges are in compliance with our Financial Risk Management Policy

Maintain a control system to ensure compliance documents are kept fully up to date, properly recorded and filed

Perform advanced financial modeling

Develop standard operating procedures

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree & 2 years of Finance experience

OR

Master's degree & 4 years of Finance experience

OR

Bachelor's degree & 6 years of Finance experience

OR

Associate's degree & 10 years of Finance experience

OR

High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Finance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous hedging experience
