Amgen is searching for a Finance Senior Associate to join the Global Business Services (GBS) Finance team. The Senior Associate will help provide financial, analytical and decision support to the GBS team. In addition to working with teams within GBS, this position will also work closely with the Functional Finance and Business teams in support of initiatives undertaken by the Global Strategic Sourcing (GSS) organization and the Amgen Full Potential Program (AFP). The Senior Associate will report to the Senior Manager of the GBS Finance team and will be based in Tampa, FL, at Amgen's new Capability Center.

The GBS Finance team was created to provide: (1) high quality analytical capabilities and support to the GSS team, (2) track and report on the progress of key initiatives within the GBS organization, (3) partner with the global GBS, AFP, Finance and business teams to develop, implement, and maintain processes, systems and reporting and (4) lead / support financial related special projects in support of the GBS organization.
The Sr. Associate will help to support a wide variety of analytical and financial activities across GSS and the AFP program - support of category spend analysis and tracking, business case development, pricing and financial model creation and analysis and trend and opportunity analysis.
The Sr. Associate will work closely with category managers, the GSS leadership team, the Functional Finance teams and the AFP teams, and will be offered a great opportunity to gain insight into the spend profile and strategies across all of Amgen's business functions as well as an opportunity to help drive value in support of the AFP program.
Spend Analytics Experience
Knowledge and experience in managing large and complex data sets
Able to convert raw data into visually powerful and impactful graphs and analysis
Comfort working with financial statements (U.S. GAAP)
Knowledge of sourcing/procurement processes is a plus
Analytical & Technical
Able to develop and think critically about approaches to solving large, complex quantitative problems
Able to be hypothesis-driven and gather necessary pieces of data to prove/disprove hypotheses
Is creative, tenacious, and resourceful in problem-solving. Is able to offer multiple approaches and appropriately execute the right level of detail and granularity for the problem at hand
Able to draw strategic insight from analysis, and to effectively summarize and present insight based on the needs of the audience
Highly proficient with Excel and MS Office Suite, with demonstrated skill in automating and scaling up analysis across large data sets. Experience with Hyperion / Business Objects preferred

Bachelor's degree and 2 years of finance experience
Associate's degree and 6 years of finance experience
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of finance experience
CPA or MBA preferred
