Amgen is seeking a Specialist Information Systems (IS) Business Systems Analyst - Configuration Management Database (CMDB) Process Owner who will work in our Enterprise Service Management (ESM) team. The Process Owner will report to the Senior Manager of Information Systems - ITIL and SAM Process and will work out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. The Specialist IS Business Systems Analyst - CMDB Process Owner will drive, implement, enhance, and maintain a comprehensive strategy and data model to efficiently manage the lifecycle of Amgen's services, business systems, assets (including data) and interdependencies. The Incumbent will harness a blend of in-depth technical acumen understanding when addressing multiple architectural landscapes as well as communicate with, and influence, multiple stakeholders. The Process Owner will comprehend and engage in driving Enterprise Service Management transformative initiatives as well as demonstrate a keen ability to apply data modeling which encompasses all aspects of IS service delivery. The Incumbent will also use software delivery, process reengineering, automation and data modeling skills.
The ESM - ITIL team includes process ownership and governance for Amgen's key service management processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Release, Software, Asset Management and associated Analytics / Service Level Agreements (SLAs), etc. The ESM - ITIL Team closely cooperates with other teams such as Global Business Services (GBS) Technology, IS Service Owners, Quality, Corporate Accounting and strategic external partners.
Key Activities for the Process Owner include:
Establishes and maintains principles for service management excellence including alignment on business value / stakeholder needs, full lifecycle management, centralized decision-driving information, and holistic, metrics-based governance
Delivers comprehensive and scalable CMDB data model for effective management of Amgen's Services Ecosystem including not limited to services (both IS and Global Business), business systems, data and corresponding risk profile, infrastructure both on premise and in public cloud
Envisions and delivers strategic end-to-end lifecycle process automation to further establish the CMDB as a 'command and control' source of truth while increasing data accuracy, reducing manual intervention, and lowering operational cost
Provides organizational leadership by partnering and influencing key stakeholders including but not limited to IS Security, Quality and Compliance organizations, IS Operations, Client-facing IS, and Global Business Service owners
Ensures clarity and aids in efficient delivery of dependent Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) services including change, incident, problem, and asset management
Establishes business driven key performance indictors and corresponding governance processes ensuring operational sustainability
Provides strategic direction for enhancing financial traceability of IS systems and services pertaining to specific organizational functions and regions
Leads and delivers key project-based initiatives as well as maintaining ongoing operations
Sets priorities and expectations of project and / or operational staff ensuring consistent delivery and accountability through risk/value based portfolio management
Influences and mentors junior staff
Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience
Solution delivery experience with in-depth understanding of Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC) methodologies including SAEe, Agile, etc.
Strong understanding of service management frameworks (e.g. ITIL, COBIT) with specific expertise with CMDB and automation
Experience with consumption-based cost transparency which may include industry tools like Apptio and ServiceNow Financial Management
Exhibits an advanced ability to impact and influence outcomes and to handle multiple priorities so as to build a strong network and relationships at senior levels across IT functions and the business
Innovative, analytical, risk-based problem solving skills
Information-based (e.g. benefit / cost) communication skills when driving or influencing portfolio prioritization
Ability to influence process reengineering, functional requirements gathering, data architecture, and system design efforts
Experience with team leadership and conflict management.
Ability to be consistently flexibility, resilient, and resourceful, working with multiple teams, delegating work load and ensuring team efficiency
System validation experience in a biotech / pharmaceutical environment
Proficiency in project management
