Amgen Specialist IS Architect - EUT Digitization Enterprise Applications in Tampa, Florida

Amgen is seeking a Specialist IS Architect to join End User Computing Services and plays an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the company's information technology strategy and processes. The IS Architect partners with both business and technology groups to ensure that the proposed technical solutions align with the company's overall objectives, and that both groups enable and drive each other to meet the company's mission and vision.

The IS Architect will report to the Senior Manager, Information Systems based out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. Our new Tampa Capability Center provides essential services that enable us to better pursue this mission. This state-of-the-art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.

The Specialist IS Architect - EUT Digitization Enterprise Applications position resides in Amgen's GBS, Communications, Collaboration, and Compute team that is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and life cycle of Amgen's End User Computing. The team consists of cross-disciplinary IS professionals who understand how to deliver services that span both infrastructure and applications.

Key Activities for Specialist IS Architect include:

Responsible for the delivery of long term end user software architecture and management, inclusive of PC, Mac, Mobile Devices, and VDI

Accountable for delivery of desktop management, mobility management, and VDI best practices, developing and delivering agile methodologies for windows desktop management, Mac provisioning, mobile provisioning, overall software distribution and support

Interact with end users from all aspects of Amgen's business to ensure that business use cases are well understood and documented

Interact with manufactures and vendors to understand service offerings and product limitations responsible for technology roadmap and planning for core infrastructure services from Microsoft, VMWare, Amazon, 1E, Avecto, Flexera, and others

Develop and maintain product roadmaps, upgrade schedules, and business dependencies along with strong vendor relationships, leveraging beta and user feedback forums where available

Work closely with network and security teams to ensure enterprise posture is maintained

Management of enterprise Print, Scan, Fax, services.

Travel: International and Domestic travel up to 20% may be essential

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree

OR

Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems and software, mobile, or web experience

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Enterprise Print Strategies

Proven track record of software implementation and upgrade paths

In depth understanding of Adobe, Java, Windows, Printing, and MS Office Suites

Experience with deployment methodologies such as SCCM, Airwatch, etc.

Proven Track record of working in a fast paced agile environment
