Amgen is seeking a Specialist Information Systems (IS) Business Systems Analyst - Change Management Process Owner who will join our Enterprise Service Management (ESM) team. The Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Information Systems - ITIL and SAM Process and will work out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. The Specialist Information Systems (IS) Business Systems Analyst - Change Management Process Owner plays a central role ensuring information technology changes meet business objectives on time and by increasing user adoption and usage of the Enterprise Change Management process as Amgen's IS management has endorsed the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) as the framework for IS Service Management. The Specialist will act as an enabler as this position can tend to be tied down by process in order to mitigate as many risks as possible. Ultimately, however, it is in the business best interest to enable changes to occur in a timely manner, thus, the Specialist will find a healthy balance between a flexible / agile change system and a low risk environment.
The ESM - ITIL team includes process ownership and governance for Amgen's key service management processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Release, Software, Asset Management and associated Analytics / Service Level Agreements (SLAs), etc. The ESM - ITIL Team closely cooperates with other teams such as Global Business Services (GBS) Technology, IS Service Owners, Quality, Corporate Accounting and strategic external partners.
Key Activities for the Specialist include:
Focuses on the IT side of change including changes to business processes, systems and technology while owning the change management strategies and plans that reduce risk
Maximizes service owner adoption and usage and minimize resistance
Works to drive faster adoption, higher ultimate utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact systems
Creates the enterprise IS change advisory board (CAB) aligning with the change management process strategy, policies, standards and ensures the CAB is fit for purpose and performing adequately in the assessment, prioritization and scheduling of changes
Develops, maintains and improves the change process and identifies training needs and develops Change Management training
Stakeholder Management and identifies and initiates improvement change management software components
Schedules and organize CAB meetings and liaises with stakeholders and technical staff
Negotiates appropriate change windows with the service owners and promotes the process across the enterprise
Assists with improving coordinated and regularly scheduled changes to minimize risks, reduce disruptions and costs of doing business
Acts as a Process Champion, Design Lead, Advocate, Coach and Protector
Defines metric measurements, monitor performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvements
Delivery of Change Management procedures and methodologies
10% domestic travel can be expected
Master's degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience
Solid understanding of how people go through a change and the change process
Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools
Experience with credibility, influence and authority across the impacted functional areas
Ability to partner with service owners, process owners, compliance leads, and other key stakeholders, the enterprise change manager will define and implement the enterprise CAB and ensure organizational compliance
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal as well as excellent active listening skills
Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences, to establish and maintain strong relationships, and to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations
