Amgen Specialist Information System Architect - Audio/Visual in Tampa, Florida
Amgen is seeking a Specialist Information Systems (IS) Architect - Audio/Visual (AV) to join Amgen's Unified Communications team and will provide technical leadership across A/V environment. The IS Architect will effectively manage customer expectations, vendors/suppliers at both a governance and tactical level, and drive continuous improvement in service delivery and represent and coordinate the Unified Communications AV service.
The Specialist IS Architect will report to the Senior Manager IS based out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, Florida. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. The Collaboration, Computing, & Communications (CCC) - Communications team is responsible for providing reliable communication technologies in the Telephony and Audio/Visual services. By applying DevOps principles this team works to deploy the latest technologies to help with meeting the growing business demands.
Key Activities for the Specialist IS Architect include:
Interact with third party vendors of AV related products and services to manage a mix of next generation and legacy AV technologies
Perform the hands-on technical content development work on their own and deliver readiness training and speaking at employee training events
Collaborate with managed service providers that include multiple SaaS providers such as Prysm, Polycom, Cisco, JibeStream, Indoors, Crestron to deliver and maintain the technology for Next Generation Workplace
Design, engineer and support webcast solution including multicast and Unicast routing, impacts to network segments, traffic segmentation, QOS, and traffic prioritization
Design, engineer and support new solutions for NextGen Workplace that include web technologies (like HTML5, CSS3, Java Script, ASP) that interact with systems such as Prysm, Surface Hub, and content delivery mechanics such as Polycom Web Suite, and Media Suite. Modern AV systems include Mobile Application interaction and Skype for Business architecture, integration with Polycom Infrastructure
Collaborate with AV run Managed Service provider to ensure SLA's are being achieved for AV services, earnings call
Provide project support for AV lifecycle projects and support/coordination for AV design and implementation activities for site expansions
Travel - Domestic and International travel up to 25% may be essential.
Master's degree and 3 years of IS and/or AV Architecture or AV Operations experience
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of IS and/or AV Architecture or AV Operations experience
Associate's degree and 10 years of IS and/or AV Architecture or AV Operations experience
High school diploma/GED and 12 years of IS and/or AV Architecture or AV Operations experience
Understands and applies knowledge of AV systems to help business users to meet requirements in an efficient manner
Obtains an in-depth understanding of the client's global use cases and seeks to propose comprehensive solutions with enterprise standard services
Understanding of client's overall business strategy and provides input into the UC Strategy to ensure future alignment
Strong problem solving, leadership and decision making skills and demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers at the highest levels
Proven ability to build relationships, communicate effectively including the ability to organize and present data, develop new business, influence others and accomplish many tasks simultaneously with an attention to detail
Demonstrate strong customer focus, flexibility, team orientation and technical proficiency in AV technologies
Technical knowledge, communication skills and organizational agility
Technical background and familiarity with, hands on delivery experience with the following:
MS Lync 2010/2013 or Skype for Business with emphasis on Enterprise Voice specific workloads
Messaging related technologies: Microsoft Exchange, O365 Exchange Online, Proofpoint or other email firewall, electronic faxing, etc.
