Amgen Senior Associate IS Business System Analyst in Tampa, Florida
Amgen is seeking a Senior Associate Information Systems (IS) Business System Analyst to join the Analytics and Knowledge Management (AKM) group and responsible for supporting various functions and applications within Regulated Content Management. The Business Analyst acts as an intermediary between the business and the technical communities working with IS project teams and business clients to collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation and conceptual design (using appropriate tools and models) from which applications and solutions are developed. The Incumbent is an active thought partner and application visionary who shapes the technology demand among the business community and supports the accountable Service Owner during agency inspections or internal audits.
The Sr Associate IS Business System Analyst will report to the Sr Manager Information Systems at Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, Florida. At Amgen, our mission is simple: to serve patients. AKM services include Advanced Analytics and Data Integration, Big Data technology services, Information Discovery and Search, Information Architecture, Knowledge Management (KM) and Regulated Content Management. The role will be part of the Enterprise IS team responsible for delivering systems in support of Regulated Document Management.
Key Activities for the Sr Associate IS Bus Sys Analyst:
Work with stakeholders in Research, Operations, Development IS and Enterprise IS, to define requirements and help in implementing changes to Content Management platform while adhering to Amgen standards, policies and procedures
Develop a strong understanding of business need, business information, IS systems, and translate to solution requirements
Establish and maintain successful partnerships at various levels with R&D and Operations IS and business teams
Develop a strong understanding of the AKM services, technologies, and capabilities to provide awareness to the functional IS and business teams, as applicable
Partner with Client IS teams in developing project or program business cases involving new or existing AKM platforms and services
Work with team to establish in-depth knowledge-sharing of IS&RM operations, services and reports; supporting the management of IS&RM financial reporting
Maintain IS&RM internal facing MyTeams, Yammer and BOX sites to ensure adherence to Amgen's Records Retention policy; Check to ensure appropriate documents are stored that attest good Security practices are in place
Partners with business and technology partners to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements. Partners with business partners to conduct UAT
Analyzes, documents and tests program development, logic, process flows and specifications
Develops user manuals to describe application installation and operating procedures
Prepares for and ensures that documentation stands up to audits and inspections; provides further documentation as necessary
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
Associate's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Information Systems experience
Experience working on Electronic Document Management Systems
Able to translate complex business processes into actionable and understandable steps for successful execution of business capability delivery
Experience working in regulated environments and understand the processes to deliver solutions with agility and maintain compliance requirements
Good organizational skills, strong attention to detail and experimental/troubleshooting aptitude
Good written and oral communication skills
Well organized and has managed several different tasks in parallel
Consultative skills and experience in engaging people throughout the organization
Ability to cross-train peers within department and other IS organizations
Experience in the pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry
Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question thought partners across functional areas
