Amgen Senior Associate IS Business System Analyst - Enterprise Data Warehousing and Integration in Tampa, Florida

Amgen is seeking a Senior Associate Information Systems (IS) Business System Analyst - Enterprise Data Warehousing and Integration within the Analytics and Knowledge Management (AKM) team. The Senior Associate will report to the Director of Data and Analytics and will work out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. Our new Tampa Capability Center provides essential services that enable us to better pursue this mission. This state-of-the art center serves as a base for finance, information systems, and human resources professionals to make a meaningful impact at one of the world's leading biotechnology companies.

The Senior Associate IS Business System Analyst - Enterprise Data Warehousing and Integration is an active thought partner and application visionary who shapes the technology demand in collaboration with the client facing IS groups. The Incumbent acts as the Business Owner and supports the accountable Service Owners in the operations and implementation of data warehousing, integration and virtualization platforms and solutions.

AKM services include Advanced Analytics and Data Integration, Big Data technology services, Information Discovery and Search, Information Architecture, Knowledge Management (KM) and Regulated Content Management.

Key Activities for the Senior Associate include:

Defines the architecture and technical road maps that align with the Analytics and Business Intelligence (BI) strategy

Leads the technical design, development, testing, implementation, and support of key projects in data warehousing, integration and virtualization domain using technologies like Teradata, SAS, Informatica (Power Center, Data Quality, MDM, DIH), Denodo, Snaplogic, etc.

Provides advice and support to project teams (project managers, architects, business analysts, and developers) on tools, technology, and methodology related to the design and development of analytical solutions

Prepares and maintain communication materials like roadmaps, position papers, presentations, demos, playbooks and socialize the materials with our business clients and partner IS services

Maintains knowledge of market trends and developments in search and related emerging technologies to provide recommendations and deliver best practice solutions.

Delivers results in an environment consisting of diverse global and matrixed partners including non-dedicated resources

Effectively manages relationships with internal business partners, service partners, and vendors

Manages data warehousing and integration service lifecycle; develop success metrics; identify redundancies and dependencies on other services; drive service and release targets

Manages service delivery teams ensuring service quality / Service Level Agreements (SLAs), budget and service inventory (licenses, assets, etc.), and manages risk and compliance by adhering to legal and regulatory guidelines and establishing policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Manages vendor relationships and hold internal/external suppliers accountable via formal agreements

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree


Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience


Associate's degree and 6 years of Information Systems experience


High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years' experience working in healthcare / regulated industry

2+ years' operation support and solution delivery experience focused on data warehousing, data integration and virtualization

Ability to successfully develop, launch, and manage product offerings

Experience in architecting solutions using two or more of the following technologies - Teradata, SAS, Informatica (Power Center, Data Quality, MDM, DIH), Denodo, Snaplogic

Experience managing the end-to-end delivery of complex search projects

Passion to learn about new technology innovation and creativity in applying to business problems

Experience with Agile methodologies and Development Operations

Ability to work in a startup-like environment with little supervision

Ability to work in either a pure development role, or helping architect and design a solution, or act as a lead managing a development team.

Ability to effectively present information for all levels, and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers
