Amgen is seeking a Manager of Human Resources Operations - HR Connect who will be an important member of our Service Delivery Team. The Manager of Human Resources Operations - HR Connect will report to the Director of Human Resources and will work out of Amgen's Capability Center in Tampa, FL. The Manager of Human Resources Operations - HR Connect leads the Service Delivery Team and manages highly confidential information of staff at all levels within the organization. By being a leader with an outstanding customer service orientation and a track-record of continuous improvement and process optimization, the Incumbent will partner with Center of Excellence (COEs) in deploying new Human Resource (HR) programs globally as well as manage, triage, and fulfill, when possible, workforce data requests.

Amgen's Service Delivery Team is responsible for providing guidance and assistance regarding many aspects of human resources administration as they provide customer service support to staff members and managers, manage worker data in the HR system, and liaison with other groups on processes and policies, and analyze Workday system functionality.

Key Activities for the Manager include:

Leads the service delivery team responsible for responding to inquiries including complex system inquiries and trouble-shooting issues relating to Amgen's HR system - Workday, guidance and clarification on policies, processes and programs, and requests for reports

Analyzes HR system functionality, identify gaps, oversee system testing, and support the configuration of HR system to meet business requirements

Manages the content in the team's knowledge base program and ensure accuracy and completeness

Champions continuous improvement and process optimization

Facilitates knowledge sharing within the team and train the call center representatives on HR and system processes

Leads other projects / activities as requested and participates in other cross-functional process improvements engaging external vendors for successful completion

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree


Master's degree and 3 years of Human Resources and/or Service Center experience


Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Human Resources and/or Service Center experience


Associate's degree and 10 years of Human Resources and/or Service Center experience


High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Human Resources and/or Service Center experience


Previous managerial experience directly managing people and/or experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or other Liberal Arts major

4+ years' experience in human resources or a corporate service center

2+ years' experience supervising a team with a record of effective team management

Working knowledge of Workday and Microsoft Office

Experience leading and/or operating in a shared service environment

Demonstrated project leadership skills, including ability to manage diverse cross-functional teams, and prioritize varied assignments simultaneously

Strong ability to interact, influence, and build relationships with all levels of staff, management, and executives

Demonstrated comfort with ambiguity and organizational change

Strong ability to understand, balance, and articulate both tactical and strategic planning issues

Strong quantitative, analytical (technical and business), and problem solving skills
