Amgen Associate Scientist - Quantitative Molecular Biologist in South San Francisco, California

Amgen Genome Analysis Unit is seeking an enthusiastic molecular biologist to join the new single cell analysis team at our research facility in South San Francisco. The Associate Scientist will work independently and as part of cross-disciplinary teams. The Associate Scientist will join an energetic research team responsible for the design and execution of quantitative molecular biology studies and the production of high quality data.

Responsibilities:

Growing and isolating cells from cultures and/or tissue, performing RNA seq and/or ddPCR studies as well as analyzing and communicating results to the research team and department.

Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree and 2 years of scientific experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:

A demonstrated strong background in molecular biology, gene expression

Experience with RNA sequencing, digital PCR

Ability to design and execute experiments independently

Excellent communication skills and the desire to work in a team

In vitro cell culture of primary cells from various tissues

Computer literacy, analytical and problem-solving skills, highly organized and ability to multi-task
