Amgen Specialist Import/Export in Singapore, Singapore

Partner internally and externally to manage inbound/outbound shipments by liaising with internal and external requestors, Amgen transportation and logistics, carriers, customs brokers, and government agencies

  • Provide expertise, consult and advise on international Customs and Other Government Agency (OGA) Import/Export requirements

  • Determine commodity classification for shipments

  • Prepare and review shipping documentation and customs invoices for accuracy including valuation, commodity classification, and country of origin

  • Provide support for obtaining applicable shipment permits and licenses

  • Resolve shipment issues including response to Customs/OGA inquiries and delays

  • Effectively liaise with government agencies, as required

  • Collect and report on key transactional performance metrics for the Asia region

  • Provide oversight and performance management of outsourced brokerage services for the Asia region

Provide support for any customs related audits for the Asia region

Conduct regional risk reduction programs

Provide oversight for Transfer Price Adjustment reporting for the Asia region

Lead Authorized Economic Operator or equivalent trade and security programs for the Asia region

Support Supply Chain Security initiatives

Review and Resolve SAP-Global Trade Services blocks

  • Monitor reporting to government agencies

  • Domestic/International travel up to 20%

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree


Master's degree & 3 years of Job Code's Discipline and/or Sub-Discipline experience


Bachelor's degree & 5 years of Job Code's Discipline and/or Sub-Discipline experience


Associate's degree & 10 years of Job Code's Discipline and/or Sub-Discipline experience


High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Job Code's Discipline and/or Sub-Discipline experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Trade Compliance or Import/Export operations

  • B.S. or advanced degree in biology, chemistry, or related technical area

  • Licensed Customs Broker or equivalent

  • Understanding of International Customs and World Trade Organization Regulations

  • Versed in key import/export processes including valuation, commodity classification, country of origin determination

  • Ability to build working relationships and effectively partner cross-functionally, cross-regionally and at all levels in the organization

  • Awareness of industry trends and developments in biopharmaceutical import/export compliance and relationships with industry peers for benchmarking and to share best practices

  • Ability to effectively navigate through ambiguity to resolve issues

  • Excellent oral and written communication, facilitation, collaboration and executive presentation skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of GMP regulations and GDP requirements

  • Self-starter with the ability to take on several projects at one time
