Amgen Undergrad Coop - Process Development (Mathematics/Statistics) in Juncos, Puerto Rico

SUMMARY

Amgen is searching for two Undergrad Coop students to support the Process Development Department in a six months assignments starting on August, 2017. This role will report to a Sr Manager Process Development and will be based on Amgen Manufacturing Limited Juncos' site. As per Business needs, the assignments can be extended up to one year.

Both positions will support manufacturing operations with the proper analysis of process data with the use of mathematical analysis tools. Will interact with Manufacturing and Process Development personnel to share ideas and work as a team member for the implementation phase.

The Undergrad-COOP students will apply the skills learned at the university in the pharmaceutical industry and learn new ones from hands on experience of work assignment. Key skills include but are not limited to: communication, planning, organization, problem solving, team-working, data monitoring etc. These roles will work and/or support real projects under supervision and guidance of highly skilled professionals that will help students to gain practical experience in the pharmaceutical field.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Use mathematics expertise for process data gathering and analysis.

Perform advanced statistical analysis to support multivariate analysis and/or process monitoring platforms (Digital Development Program).

Make effective business/scientific presentation.

Work with multidisciplinary teams and teams to handle multiple projects at one time.

Work on software such as MiniTab, JMP and Excel.

Organize & analyze data and present results.

Interpretation of results for operational issues and or experiments/studies related to projects.

Interact constructively with peers.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Statistics and/or Mathematics

At Least 3.00 GPA (General)

Have completed at least 3 years of college education

Be enrolled in School

Not yet graduated

Be pursuing an applicable degree or course of study

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Be enrolled in school under the Coop program

Problem Solving requiring the application of scientific process

Basic Technical report writing and presentation skills

Analytical Problem Solving and organizational skills

Computer Literacy

Ability to work with data analysis

Ability to work under pressure and independently with minimal supervision with periodic review if results

Team work oriented
